Machinist advice needed for cocker project

Ok I got black magic cocker in a deal gone bad. The gun was not what I was told it was, Now I am stuck with a gun That is in pretty rough shape. I want to have some custom machine work done to it. But I want to know that It will work before I commit to the project.

I dont pics of the gun currently. But U can google for pic of a black magic cocker if you dont know what the gun body looks like. I dont want to do a halfblock cocker like most everyone else is/has done. I want to keep the full length bolt. I want to remove the center section of the upper tube. Cut the front on an angle from where you cut it for a half block. And leave the back 1/2- 3/4 inch as well, also cut on an angle. But I also want to leave the sight rail that is above the upper tube connected to the front n back.

Can this be done without creating air leaks or other gun issues?

P.s the gun is ebladed is that makes any difference.

Thank you in advance for your help.

You mean like this? https://www.facebook.com/photo.php?f...type=3&theater

If you're wanting something like above, then yes, you can do it and there will be no leaks.

By the way, that's machined by Ryan at Super_Stanchy Customs.

He's not taking work other than freak boring currently since he's moving and taking a little vacation.

But nerve2030 is another machinist on here that does great work and should be able to do what you're wanting.

What you want is called "windowing". makes a window into the gun. It can be done to portions of both the upper and lower tubes. If you wanted to keep the whole bolt but chop of the back entirely that would be called "midblocking". You can also "mini" or "midget" the gun to take length off the bottom tube (mini is off the front and midget is off the back), do both and you have a micrococker. The only thing you don't want to do is open the marker somewhere in the travel of a dynamic oring. All orings on autococker bolts are dynamic so make sure that you can never see an oring when the bolt is moving.
