My nephew got a used DM6 and it had issues. We went through the gun and did the normal maintance. It shot fine, but when we went to the field we couldnt get it to shot over 180 fps.

Any advice?

Battery is new from the pb store.

Is setting the regs something that is easy to do or should I take it to a shop? I am new to these electric guns.

Crapppppp, that question's scary, but no setting the pressure is as simple as taking an Allen key and putting it in the hpr and lpr, if you don't have a manual google one, there are plenty. But if that doesn't work either check and increase the dwell, make sure the shim stack is set properly, clean and lube the regulator, and lube the bolt

HPR 4 1/2 turns out

make sure battery is fresh and the bolt is lubed.

REPORT BACK!


if this doesn't work then well..


You need to make sure your shims in your reg are stacked correctly.. and you have the right amount of shims

Make sure the gun isn't leaking AT all.

If you have a different reg try it

LPR is easy to set, HPR not so much. The stock setting for the DM6 LPR is 3 turns out, meaning you need to turn the adjustment screw clockwise until you feel resistance, then back it out 3 turns. There is no universal setting for the HPR. For that you need to find a chronograph and play around with the reg until it's set to the speed you want.

Take it to a tech and have it fully serviced,reg,lpr,bolt,dwell settings and for gods sake only use Duracell or Energizer nothing else I tech in Cali for different stores and when I maintenance DM's first thing I do is put a new battery and test it.If you think you can doit yourself break the Hpr,lpr and bolt down make sure all orings are good and smooth(very important) if there's friction everything else has to be compensated to make up for this(higher lpr,dwell etc)remember just because the orings look good doesn't mean they'll perform as such,after all that is done like they said above turn the lpr in clockwise until it stops but don't crank on it,the back it out 3 1/2 turns next shut your Hpr off by doing the same then turn the gun on turn off the eyes and air it up.Once aired up it will leak so start pulling the trigger and back out the Hpr screw at the same time as your shooting it until the gun seals and is shooting some what hard then go chrono it.If you have ore questions pm me.Good luck enjoy one of the best DM's made.
