Buying Markers from PBN
Hello, I'm not new to paintball, just new to PbNation and I was wondering how I can purchase a gun from somebody on here who is selling in the Electronic Markers section. Just about every thread says for example: $650 paypal and shipped. I would love to purchase a gun from somebody on here but would like to know how that is safe and how everyone can buy and sell using PBN and not have any problems. If anyone could provide me with some useful information on this topic that would be cool, thanks.
EDIT: Thanks a lot guys!I'm not sure what to do about contact info and stuff, do I just ask them for it through a PM? Also I am really looking to buy a gun from the pro player section. I have seen some good stuff in there and I would assume that everyone in that section is legit right?

there are lots of problems when you buy guns off of here. it can come to you broken, or far more damaged than was described in the thread, or they could just steal your money and not send you anything at all.
you just need to be cautious when buying anything used. check through their feedback see how they conduct buisness.
if you are gonna buy **** on here use paypal, so if the worst happens you have a good chance of getting your money back
most people wont screw you over, but their are definitely people out there just waiting to steal some money from someone.

definitely watch out for thieves. I recently got beat out of $300, but also made successful purchases. Most people aren't scamming though usually the higher the feedback the greater the chances are they are legit.

Also keep in mind if you send money as a gift you have no way to protect yourself through PayPal.

Feedback is something that is very important. If people have ASM and BST as well it shows that they are willing to pay for not just PbN but to acquire trust, which has been a good thing in the past and it works for me when I deal with others.
I wouldn't recommend gifting that often unless the person has a lot of feedback since it gives you no buyer protection.

The seller has to have an acceptable amount of feedback, PayPal, and a past join date IMO.
You would not want to gift purchases because if you do, you'll have a hard time trying to get the money refunded if the seller scams you.

another good indicator is looking at their badges. a guy that had 3 "paid" badges, and a 10 year badge, is less likely to screw u than a guy that joined yesterday, and has no paid badges, and 0 feedback.

Good tips
- NEVER Ever Gift the money. If you do you loose the protection if lets say they don't send the marker. Sometime PP will let you file a claim when you gifted it but honestly it's not worth the trouble.
- Check the members feedback, Being your first time buying off here I would stick to someone that has a lot of feedback.
- Get contact information
Other than this and what is in the stickies you just have to trust your gut. Lots of things can go wrong and I'm not saying don't buy off here but you just have to be aware.

dont forget to get insurance whenever you ship something of a considerable amount. at least that way you can send the buyer their money back and youll get the reimbursement from the insurance if something does go terribly wrong like the package does get legitimately lost or something. (very very rare that it happens though)
but insurace to like $600 is only $1.

I am new also and have now made two purchases. The transactions went smoothly, I would also recommend make sure you look at their feedback.

I joined so I could buy a gun on here. I've bought everything from guns, rotors, barrels and gear and never gotten screwed over.
Always have PM's between the seller and yourself on when he/she will ship and the cost. I save most of my transactions in folders should anything go wrong.
Happy shopping on PB Nation.

Pretty much what everyone else said. Also, make sure you quote the OP's original post about the marker or whatever is for sale. That way he cannot edit it later if something does go wrong.

In addition to checking for amount of feedback, look at the kind of feedback. If it's a large number of tiny purchases and sales then I would be wary. However, if the person has many gun trades/sales/purchases then, chances are, you'll be okay.
Sometimes things mess up and it's never guaranteed (I once sent a marker that got lost in the mail. Ended up refunding the buyer and losing the marker) but my personal experiences have generally been good.
Just keep your eyes open, be smart about it, and realize that sometimes ****ty things may happen so cover your bases.
Good luck!

Always make sure people have legit feedback and search the theft reports. Never gift money when you send it via Pay Pal. Thats about it!

Hey, sounds like you've got some great advice here. I just wanted to pop in and say thanks myself. I was reading the thread and didn't know about the potential trouble in gifting money on paypal. So hey, best of luck there buddy!

The Pro section is less likely to get you scammed. You always have to assume that the other person isn't all who you think they are. Honestly, a Pro player wouldn't scam someone on here, because their reputation would be destroyed, they'd probably get kicked off their team, and they'd be forgotten. But still, everyone's different.
When buying, the seller will provide their Paypal email address in a PM (most likely). You will then send the payment as goods. Then just make sure to let the seller know to save the tracking information so that the seller can give it to you. You don't need to look at it everyday, but just have it to make sure that he didn't scam you.
PM me if you have any questions.
