Balls getting stuck in barrel
So I just got a G4 yesterday. It was used but in great condition. I wanted to test it out to make sure everything worked. First thing I did was put a single pb in. Put my hand over the feedneck and fired. No pb. I looked down and the pb was just at the barrel line. A 2nd pull sent the pb flying.
I figured it was just the way I was doing it so I put a loader on with 20 balls in it. First pull nothing. 2nd pull 2 balls that were duds. 3rd pull nothing. 4th pull it sounded like air was not getting to the gun so I turned it off. In side the barrel about an inch was a pb. Not broke. Behind it was 2 that were.
any ideas?
the layout.
It is kinda cold outside. The pb's have been outside for a few months and temp had fluxed. I don't know anything about gun other than before it was mailed to me I saw a video of it.working.
any ideas would be awesome.

What bore was your barrel compared to paint? I had a similar problem when I underbored too much.

when you get the marker DP use or new, inspect it first. remove the old lube and find whats the battery voltage(if it comes with one), anything lower than 8.4 you should replace it or close to that. try to use a decent paint to see if it still doing the same thing. more than likely it wont cause the stock barrel has a big bore. since the paint has been sitting outside it might have swelled up. check your settings too and read the manual stock dwell should be ~12, HPR at 180-200.

Awesome. Thanks for advice . I need to order new lube and replace battery and I will put some paint inside to check it out. I don't think I have a stock barrel. It's as proto.

Sound like you just need to turn up the velocity.

Well I bought the gun used. So there is no case/ manual for it... i guess i need to find a PDF one online and check the dwell. I think the velocity is fine but I may bump up to test.. I dont have a chrono at my house to check it and I wont be playing for a few weeks so I wont be going to my local field any time soon.

Well I have been doing Paintball slowly.
I only get to play once a month, so its been slow going buying things. I just now got a decent marker after 6 months of working my way up with trades from an older autococker to the G4. So next purchase will probably be some pants, then a chrono.

Try a new battery. I had a similar problem where the gun would fire, and then stop cycling, with a ball being lodged in the barrel right past the detents. New battery fixed the issue immediately.

Ill try this tomorrow... why would a battery cause the ball to move just past the detents? Because thats pretty much exactly what its doing.

It can - but like others have said, it could also be too low of a solenoid dwell and/or HPR pressure. The low battery doesn't have enough juice to energize the noid correctly in that it doesn't stay open long enough or open all the way.

i would not increase pressure at all just yet. make sure the dwell is set right and relube the bolt and solinoid.
also, a 1/4 turn on the DP regulator is about 75psi, so dont turn it to much.
I made this guide to help people with the G4 but it will work for the g3 or any other DP spool
