That recall is worth it if it applies to you.

I'm not saying the STi is bad, but with it being his DD I wouldn't. Well, I might as we know these cars pretty well by now, but if I didn't, I wouldn't.

Recall for what?

Awk: they didn't have mogul 300. They only had mogul brake fluid. Weird...

Respraying the front? control arms in a certain region because they decay due to what the road conditions are.

I think that's the closest thing unfortunately. Some folks recommend amsoil or red line though.

Yeah it's also the reason I will never buy a Hyundai again . The japs and Koreans don't have the same kind of rock salt there . I was driving to skiing in highschool and I stepped on the brakes at a light and bent the right control
Arms. My friend who was a mechanic who was with me was like I would never believe you just stepped on the brakes if you brought this in the shop . I would think you had to have hit something . 2 years later try issues a recall .

Subaru had a similar recall

Yeah I hear ya. Only issue we had with our older Sonata was paint coming off the inside door handles that happened to everyone but they wouldn't recall them.

The new Sonata has control arm issues, and some other suspension issues, but they also cover them pretty well depending on the dealership you deal with. It's a known issue.

I heard they don't use actual salt on roads but some other ****.

Ya'll think I should put a oil presure gauge in place of the oil temp, before I get to p&l?

Cool, dude that came over to help from NASIOC (turned out he lives like 3 houses down) wants that thing you were going to "give" me. I told him the price you gave me (which was "free") and I'd pick it up when I picked up the radiator.

Is that cool? He might want some of the other "free" stuff in your "free" part out thread.

Well, is it more important to you to not spin a bearing while in the middle of a canyon run or 10 minutes after you started driving?

I plan to go Boost/A-F Ratio/Oil Pressure because I have zero intentions of getting on it while it's cold.

I'm running Prosport Evo: Boost and Water Temp

My clock pod I am running innovate: AFR (wideband), oil temp/press (dual gauge), and EGT.

In my opinion you should get at a minimum:

Boost
EGT
AFR

that's really all you need. I like gauges and plan to start data logging and really learning to read my gauges and run my car efficiently as possible so that's why I got so many.

Yeah I'll probably end up just using whatever the guy before me was using when I get a new one and not give a damn much.

As far as my current car is concerned, since Derek's damn pillar pod got lost in the mail, I'll probably just end up with the cheapest decent boost pod/guage I can end up with.

Anyone switch to a Rotella or any other synthetic on a higher mileage WRX(I'm at 94k) bought it from a dealer, so I have no clue what the previous owner(s) used.

I would like to switch since on this past oil change(Valv maxlife synthetic blend 5-30) I've used about a half quart for a little over a thousand miles, and have heard T6 was gold in turbo Subie motors, just a little concerned with the rumors that it can clean off gunk and cause the seals to leak.

For what its worth, whatever the dealer used in the motor when they did their oil change, nothing or very little was burned in 2.5k miles

Rotella T6 5W-40 (the only way it comes in T6, otherwise it's T5) is a great oil for the motors, but it is only chosen because it is on par with other oils that cost a bit more.

Honestly, Mobil 1 5W-40 works just as well. You might jump into something with a higher weight because of the cold but that's up to you.

Motul is a great oil. Royal Purple is just fine, to be honest. Castrol is just fine. Oil checks have proven the weight matters more than the brand.

What you're hearing about the seals doesn't really hold up.

Then again, there are also people running over 200k miles on only Mobil 1 5W-30 changing every 7500 doing just fine.

Edit: I meant lower weight because of the cold, not higher.

I switched to Rotella on my WRX at 140k and ran it in my STI a couple times.

I run Castrol 0w-30 now.

Nice! How'd did getting it back in work? I guess you need new fluid before you check?
