Official VMOT Logo (Project revision 2)
Logo time!
So it's about time we update everyone on what's been going on. Brandon85 had worked on and started this project which most of you guys saw in the VMOT thread. He's since passed the football off to myself and a friend of mine who is in the graphic art industry. Since then, we have been talking about, working on, and revising different styles of the logo, and this thread is a great place to discuss opinions, questions, and preferences on:
- Location of Text
- Style of Text
- Angle of text and/or marker
- Marker style
- Anything else (changes) you think of
Myself and said friend have also started working on rough comps of two more styles of bodies, should we be interested in one of those instead of the already prepared Sunrise body style.
The two other styles we have on file are:
...and although we've started on these other two bodies, they are still very rough and unpresentable. They will be worked on and presented should the majority be more interested in either one instead of the Sunrise model. There's obviously no point in doing more work than is necessary.
Keep in mind that these may be on Jerseys, stickers, magnets, posters, etc. when thinking about size, angle, and placement of the text/marker in the logo.

Ok, if you're going to opt for option 5, please at least post why you did.

I like #1. Simple and plain but effective.

Maybe the text placing of #1 and the tilt of #2?
I'm not 100% feeling any of them, but a logo is better than no logo.

I reckon we might as well do it right the first time and not half-*** a logo that we'd sort of be happy about. Right?
any suggestions on changes? I like the text style we did on #4, but the location/angle doesn't feel right.

What about a simple gen-e with no milling, but the text on it in white?

Vegard, like if the text was milling on the body?
I don't see a problem with settling on more than 1 logo for different uses. they're already made, so why not.

What about 3 did you like, Bryan? The style of text? The angle?

As a sticker just the text from the last pic would do fine for me, no need for a matrix right next to it as it complicates the design and thus makes it harder to get right. No reason to put a sticker of a matrix on the hopper I use on my matrix.

Hmm, We might have to make a few changes to the text style and size of the gun for that to be somewhat comfortably legible as a small logo on jersey material.
I'll see if we can work up a sample for this.

I agree with vegard. While I find the aardvarks a piece of art, I think that the simplicity of the Gen-E would fit a logo better

i like the style font. but i can see how that jaggedness of 4 can go with the snout barrel and reg better.
i feel that any of these would look great as a peel away sticker. i want one for my truck.

I actually saw something really awesome that reminded me of this. You see those sword fish stickers on the back of cars that say "Salt Life".
I saw another one that was two AR15s crossed like swords, and it said "Assualt Life". Though we wouldn't have the funny play on words, might be cool to see them crossed like swords and it say VMOT Member underneath.
I'd really like to get some of these cut out of white vinyl for my car asap
