You're getting Gene Chizik and you'll be happy with it.

they will probably end up with john l smith. i hear pat shurmur will be looking for a job, he might end up there too.
at this point the browns could run the table and make the playoffs on wild card and he would still get fired

Gene Chizik.
Though if they take some of the money they were going to pay Gruden and let Chizik use it for Payroll, they could be pretty competitive.

Its cute that UT thinks they can get anyone they want. Its pretty much a dumpster fire, why would a top notch coach risk their reputation there?

They have a better chance of getting Gruden than getting Jimbo

On the off chance Gruden does go to UT, they will still suck.

Think so. Why would a coach leave a program where he is both pretty successful and well paid to go to another program that is in shambles? They might be able to get a guy that is out of coaching like Gruden by throwing stupid money at him (though I seriously doubt it, I don't think he wants to coach) or they will have to get an up and coming guy, like Michigan did. Why would Les Miles leave a perennial top 5 program where he is well paid to try to rebuild Michigan? Why not just ask LSU for a raise? Its a big risk for a guy like that to take a rebuilding job, because reputation is everything.

This. Gruden is overrated as ****. If he goes to UT, we will have a good idea that all the pro teams realize how overrated he is.

You mean you don't want a coach that hasn't been on the sidelines of a college game in 21 years and has been away from coaching for 4 years?

he actually was not a bad college coach, albeit he was not an HC. pro skills do not translate well to the college game and vice versa, that is the bigger issue. if he was in the NFL he would still be in the top 50% of coaches, he just is not the coaching god he is made out to be.

Or BYU and Boise could nut up and join the Big XII.
