13 ci tank? (woodsball)

My gf likes the idea of a 13 ci tank based on the size and assumtion that itll be much lighter. I like the fact that it never needs hydro

Assuming fully stock 2006 empire 2, no upgrades, what kind of performance could we expect from a 13ci tank? We would mostly be playing woodsball not raining paint and the matches usually last about 20 minutes. Wouldnt wanna run outta air during a match but dont want an overly bulky tank that never has a chance of being used up in a match

Id also probably consider using it with a BT TM-7

you can probably get a max of 300 shots. also they do go out of hydro. there is not a tank in production that has unlimited life. i would look into a 45ci/4500 psi tank if you want a light setup with a decent amount of shots

Uh does the 2X2 rule not exist any more?

Used to be a tank that was less than 2 inches in diameter and less than 2 feet long (I think it was 2 feet) did not need hydroing.

thats what i was basing it on, i guess hes sayin all tanks get old eventually, which i understand.

she doesnt really like the idea of 300-ish shots anyway, not that she plans on spraying or anything, just doesnt want to chance running out

I've never heard 2x2 rule apply to HPA tanks, only co2. A 9 oz never needs rehydro, and you can a good 700-900 shots out of one. You might want to check that out if you're willing to use co2. (Here come the CO2 haters)

Yea, here comes the CO2 haters. Like me. If you want to ruin your gun use CO2. If not then don't ever put it on your gun

2x2 rule applys to hpa and co2. The ninja tank barely outside of 2inches.

Never the less. Every 5 years have the tank inspected and hydroed.

Depends on what gun. My pump gets 250ish shots, but my Spyder get less than 150.

that was kind of a guess. i think if you were using it on a g6r then you may squeeze out about 300 shots.

I play pump and get less than 200 shots. You can expect at least 100-150 shots guaranteed. To be honest the weight is less. But if u have a normal hopper(rotor or z2) or similar....the weight of the paint will throw off the balance of the gun. So unless you are going with a much smaller hopper also, then a lighter tank may feel weird to u or ur gf

this is what i would do, if i wanted a $1000 paperweight. can you imagine what co2 would do to your noid on any electro?

A 13/3000 is going to give you 100-150 shots. Possibly less depending on how the marker operates.
It's a pump tank more then anything to be honest. Or something to use in a 'sniper' setup. You're not going to get anything beyond a hopper; and even then that depends on what you consider a hopper these days. I would go by 140-160 count hopper like a Halo B.

Also intimidators are HPA only. They used to recommend only anti-syphon co2 if you were going to use it. But it still will freeze your noid lines and seals with time. It's best to be avoided with any electro marker these days. As most do not recommend it and if you use it you will not get a warranty service of any kind.

It's not that we're CO2 haters, it has its place but its place is not in high end markers with solenoids. Even with an anti-Siphon you still run the risk of damaging your internal o-rings in both the marker and solenoid. It's just not worth it.

Is this rec ball? Otherwise, all day air passes trump the cost savings of a CO2 tank quite quickly.

Of course it does. My Spyder's manual recommends HPA over CO2. But I have put CO2 in a TM-7 and done fine. Didn't break anything.

Good thing this is the Intimidator forum where we only recommend hpa for our Bob Long markers.
