Next step after owning a DP G4
Hi
I've a DP G4, which works well, but I think it eats lot of air, compared to friend's markers. My throttle 68/4500 tank (filled at 4500) in my G4 shoots 2 full rotors plus 4 pods (measured this weekend), while my friend's proto rail shoots "twice" that
All orings in G4 look fine and don't hear any air leak. Tank looks ok also, so:
Which would be the next option in case I'd like to sell my G4? Without going too further in money, lets say:
- invert mini?
- empire Axe?
- Etek am/lt ?
- ego 08/09
- Proto rail?
- any other?
Thanks a lot in advance

If you want efficiency then the etek is the best choice in that group.

I wouldn't recommend an etek over an axe or an ego 8/9. I had an axe before my luxe and it was fantastic. They get about 9 pods and a hopper. The ego 9 would be slightly better on air.

I second the Ego/Axe decision.
You'd save a little money going the etek 2 route though. But its definitely not going to be big step up from the DP G4

Wow
I expected some help but not this much! I see clearly most of you advise to go for an Axe or ego 08/09
Thanks everyone for your help!

It would be cheaper to just buy another tank if running out of air is your issue. That or toss in a Techt HE engine. Or if not a second tank, a used scuba tank and fill station. You can spend less on a scuba tank and fill station than on an in hydro used tank and that will last you all day if you aren't at a place that does all day air.
Now, if this is more a justification to buy a new marker (which I more than understand) many of those choices are quality. Not the most efficient marker, but the PM5/6/7 line is dirt cheap and are very nice markers. Arguably the best $125 marker out there.
There are some great shooting intimidators, angels, shockers, older egos, etc out there that are going to be right around a straight trade for the G4 if you are looking to trade. Some more efficient than others. All should be enough gun to do anything you could ever ask of a marker.
I'd consider what you don't like about the G4 (sounds like efficiency) and then figure out the best way to get where you want (upgrades, more efficient marker, bigger tank, extra tank, scuba to fill from, etc).

I don't think the tank to be the problem because I've tested my G4 with a brand new 68/4500 ninja and it shoots +/- the same ammount
I don't think trading will be a good option here in my country, but I'll take in consideration your suggestions. Intimidators, angels, shockers are not very frequent options here
Finally, we're saving some extra money to get a 4m or 6m nitrogen tube-tank and a fill station, so this will allow us to keep playing until night. I was told it would allow up to 8 refills at 2000psi avg so this would be enough to begin for the 4p team

Honestly, it sounds like your G4 needs some fine-tuning, because a rotor and 4 pods off a 4500 fill is ridiculously terrible.

Correction (sorry If I made someone to confuse):
1# game: 1 rotor + 2 pods
2# game: 1 rotor + 2 pods
3# game: watching from outside
Tank was filled at 4100psi if I remember well
Still being at 4100 +/- a proto rail 2012 shooted 1 rotor + 1 pod more than I did

So basically 6 pods... Thats still pretty bad. My DM5 can do 6 pods off a 3500 fill, and older DM's are notorious airhogs.
Then again, i've never owned any DP gun, so i'm not positive on how efficient they really are. However, it is a newer generation gun, so i would assume it could shoot more pods than my 7 year old DM
I would head over to the DP dedicated section and ask other G4 owners what their settings are and try and fine tune the gun. You should definitely be able to squeeze 2 more pods off a 4100 fill
