Amount of paint needed for tourney.

I'm just trying to get a general idea of the amount of paint needed for a 5 man.
I have never done one, so asking for thoughts.
Thanks for any replies.

Wrong place to put this but everyone is different though. I usually use 2-3 cases it just depends I would order atleasr 2 for sure. If it is a bigger event and is 7 man 5 man etc then 3-4 cases.

Sorry, didn't know there was a wrong place. Just asked in Ohio, because that's where I'm playing.
Thanks for opinion though.

Depending on how aggressive your team plays, plan on 1 case per point for the team, if you sit back plan more. So if you are playing race to 2 and have 4 other teams in your bracket, then you could potentially play 3 points per team or 12 points total in prelims.
Also buy paint as a team not as individuals. You don't want your back guys not laying down lanes for your fronts because they don't want to buy 4 cases versus fronts buying 2.

Good luck and have fun.

Also don't buy all of your cases at once. Buy like 4 cases initially and then get another 4 etc so the paint doesn't sit in the sun and heat causing it to swell and bounce on your your opponents. Just be sure to get the next 4 or whatever amount before you run out:-) Also you may be able to change to another paint if the first batch is shooting terrible.

What tourney are you playing? TPA, Dropzone, or ??

Doing the TPA SIDS event. As I said before, 1st one. So I'm asking all kinds of questions and trying to make sure I have everything covered.

Thanks for that detailed info, very helpful.

Ask away, that's how you learn. The TPA SIDS event will be well run as Mike has been running the TPA tourneys for quite a few years and puts on the best tourneys in Ohio. I would suggest if you can go spectate the TPA tourney before the SIDS to do so. You will see and learn alot.

Rambo does have a point. It comes down to how agressive you are and how much paint you tend to use. Lucky lol I don't get to go the SIDS tournament we lost two guys.

I was actually considering doing that. I've never even been to TPA. Another reason I'm asking about price stuff is my boy is playing on my team. So I need to double the cost of just about everything.

I completely agree. We both work at a park here in Mansfield. I'm a ref and he's a jr ref. We play together some, but looking forward to an all day event.

One thing every team must do though is pool paint though. We split the entry, we split the prizes we split the costs. There is no reason a back guy who traditionally shoots more paint should have to pay more or less than than any other guy unless you are splitting up praises based on how much paint each player shot. so therefor the back played who shot more paint should get a bigger share of the prizes. There is one paint bill at the end of the day that the players equally.

Thank you for that info. I've heard that a couple times now. Will have to mention to the guys I'm playing with. Sounds very logical to me.
