I think I may be able to afford more than just the ego. Should I go for the luxe or geo or stay with the ego?

just stick with the ego. it really just goes back to what ive been saying, none of them is going to out-perform the other and make you a better player. try and get a hold of one in person if you can, and just go for the one you like best. personally id rather have the lcd screen on the eclipse guns rather than the talking luxe board for convenience. plus the cases eclipse stuff comes with is really nice to have.

For a first timer for high end guns i would still go with the ego, spool valve guns like luxe's and geo's require a lot of maintenance whereas poppets like the ego require little maintenance

What kind of maintenance for spool guns?

I have owned a tippmann before, so I have a decent idea what to do with a marker.

Spools valve markers generally require more TLC than poppets. With most spools, you have to make sure to re-lube them before you go out and play for the day and have to check the orings on the drive train before every time as well.

Poppets don't need much daily attention with only putting oil on the rammer every time (if that is even needed). There are also less orings involved so less likely chance of something small going wrong.

And you guys are saying that an ego will not out perform a luxe, geo or victory ripper?

Both will shoot 12.5 ramp and 15 capped semi. Both shoot 285 fps. It comes down to how the gun feels to you, customer service, and efficiency. A luxe will be smoother than an ego, but the ego will be more efficient.

Well then what makes the prices so different on them?

Any electro with eyes, ramping, on/off asa, and a decent feedneck will be fine to use in tournaments.... hell, technically any electro will be fine.

Asking if an ego11 would be a good gun to use in tournaments is like asking if the the sky is blue.

Get an ego8, used rotor or z2 and a nice carbon fiber tank all for a total of around $500-$600 and then get a good mask (proflex/eflex, i4, grillz, etc.), and some decent soft goods.

Dont worry.

Even though buying used items isnt ur thing
Once u have a gun the hard part is over
Say u buy a used high end gun for 500

and u use it and a part breaks
most parts since money doesnt seem to be an issue are not all that expensive and are fairly easy to fix.

All markers are in a way pretty much the same just assembled differently
Spending money on a brand new gun is just not worth all the money
1000$ can get u all Like New **** for hella cheap if u bargain right

My mind is already made up that I am buying new, sorry, just what I want to do after doing research.

I am still very confused on the difference between a luxe, ego, geo, and victory ripper. I will hoepfully go to my shop and feel them to see which one I like the look and feel of more, but any performances differences?

As a relatively new player to the sport myself, I was given once great piece of advice when gun shopping:

don't buy the first one you have a good deal on. get it in your hands and shoot it, if you don't like it, don't buy it. Find a gun that feels good to you.

3. Used v-3 rotor with the anti-jam shark fin.
4. Nice set of new pants, I like JT but any well known name will make great pants(empire, planet eclipse, hk, dye etc...)
5. Used Luxe 1.0 or Planet eclipse geo 2.0 or 2.1
6. Just about any pod pack, I like nxe but it doesn't matter too much.

That's my opinion on what I think a good setup is in your budget, but you should definitely try out as many markers as you can at your field and masks and playing equipment at your local shop.

P.S.
If you plan on playing strictly airball I'd recommend some cleats.
^ ditto not sure I would recommend a luxe though I think it would be pushing the budget even 1.0. Geo 2, Ego10 or 11, BL Vice or G6r
