Championship Feedback

Well, time to start feedback.
Did anyone have as many bull**** penalty calls as we did? We got hit with like 7 penalties, all but one was because of the refs calling out for old hits and rubs and claiming it as play on. Not to mention, every time I asked the head ref what the penalty was for, he either wouldn't tell me or was a smart ***. This was on field two by the way. Other than the bull**** ref calls it was over all a good day.

If a game is reported wrong you need a player from the other team to vouch for it.

It was fun, a lot of bad calls but I'm not complaining. Congratulations to LSD for taking the win! You all are a great group of guys! Hopefully we get to see LSD and Defiance next season! Even though you guys are our biggest competition out there it's just like playing against a group of our friends in the end.

Agreed. Glad to know we're not the only ones that experienced bad calls. Congrats also and look forward to next season. You guys played great also.

Field 2 reffs trash trash trash I mean they tried but they did not move for a check. Scrubstatus player looks down doesn't play yells for a check the head ref didn't move he finally gets a reff to call him out. Heck I asked a ref a rule that I totally knew from the book and he was like Ohh thanks for telling me that man
If the Msxl doesn't move down to far south I might start reffing just so players never deal with that again
Field 1 refs were in up in you checking in a heart beat working hard for the player

I'm to the point where I'm going to switch to only SEPS. I enjoy MSXL but the refs are garbage. The head ref was lazy. They kept calling out Cody for rubs and old hits. They wouldn't get off their *** and check. Im really glad to know we wasn't the only ones that experienced this.

The venue was awesome, the teams were cool...I'm just tired of the bad reffing, no consistency, hardly any penalties being called from what I saw, and several refs lifting goggles after every point during xball matches. I enjoyed playing the series this year, but the reffing is a definite issue and I will probably avoid Msxl in the future, just not worth it.

tapper just charge a little more for entry and pay the refs better, that would help a lot I think.

Major adjustments coming in that department. Couldn't agree more.

it's very difficult to do, but one crew that refs every tourney both days would be a huge improvement. tapper pm me if something like that goes down, I may be interested in reffing Msxl next year

This is a long time over due and should ad an increased level of consistency to our series.
This should be done in a manner that only increases entry a very small amount if any.
Keeping the MSXL the most affordable Regional Championship Series remains our primary goal!!!

Also we are adopting a rule that teams will be required to shoot paint from MSXL approved paint manufactures exclusively. We already have DXS on board and will offer a promotional package to all other major manufacturers similar to what PSP offers and ask for them to help support our league and keep paintball affordable. This will help keep the players cost to participate down. If a manufacturer doesn't want to show support for the MSXL and our teams we done want to support them by allowing them to profit from paint sales to you to be used at our events.

More to come.

Its really hard for us to justify driving that far and spending the money that we do for be reffed by d4 and d5 players who clearly do not know what they are doing. The facility was awesome, all the teams played great, I had a great time playing with my boys. But I don't think its fair for the refs(and definitely not fair to the players) to be put in a position that they clearly cannot handle(IE The refs having no idea what they are doing)

And we started out the season with 4 crews/teams reffing the series fresh off a PSP certification clinic. Problem arouse 1/2 way through the year when one of those teams dropped out of the series and had to get refs where we could to fill in. Also one of the other crews/teams was completely different than they started out. 1 crew for each day was the certified crew we started with and by the feedback they are the ones everyone are happy with.

This is only our 4th season. We will continue to make adjustments and improve. I am committed to giving you'll the best events possible for your money.

A few of you want me to raise the entry. Not happening. There are other solutions PSP/APPA/MSXL are working on.

Of course in an ideal world our certified refs that began the season would have keep their commitment to the season, sorry didn't happen.

We don't have $2500 entry so we are working our hardest to provide you great events affordably.

We didn't have any problems really from a team's standpoint, but from my own - I think it's unfair to tell people to chrono at one location, and then use a different chrono on the field. I received a penalty for shooting 306, when using the other chrono on the side - I couldn't get my gun to go above 280. I'm not mad, and I'm all for shooting below 300, which had I known I was hot with one chrono I would have turned it down. Also, I think if you're going to check someone's gun, you should stop the clock rather than letting it count down.
