Max'd had a few minor improvements and new Gear if I remember correctly. Not sure if true, but I remember it having a Graphical Improvement as well. All-in-all, it was better in many ways than GHTP and I'd say is tied with Digital Paintball (I would say Source, but that game never left Alpha).

Didn't max only come out for ps3 at first or something? I remember not being able to play it except at my buddies.

New gear, better graphics and layouts, ability to create sick fields, etc. and I can't remember if the air bunkers moved in GHTP like they do in Max'd.

no they didn't move. i just really liked the gameplay mechanics of the first one. made it actually feel like a paintball game, had the AI been anything short of retarded.

It's all coming back to me, that game was great.

Max'd shared many of the same Gameplay Mechanics and improved on many. They didn't **** up a lot of them like GHTP 2, they improved and added. There should not be any Woodsball; there is no need for it in a Paintball Game, especially with the Milsim Guns (makes the game like any other FPS).

MAX'd came out on the original XBOX first, but came out later with some updates on the PS2.

Then when the XB360 came out it wasn't on their certified Emulator list so you couldn't play it unless you had an original XBOX. Eventually it was added, but they had already shut down the original LIVE servers, and that left you with SP only.

... and now you know.

They really need to step up their promotions if they want to get this funded. I haven't seen it posted on Facebook from any of the major companies that I follow. They need to let people know that this is out there.

There was a Thread on the News Section of PBN, but it was removed. I messaged John about it and was told it is "asking people to donate and people will pay and not receive anything if it isn't funded".

Yeah you're not allowed to ask for donations on here. That still isn't going to get the views it needs to get funded. They need to get it out on facebook, twitter, etc. It has to get out to more than just the PbNation community.

Yeah, well Greg Hastings isn't exactly the guru of advertisement. None of his games ever had any decent ads. It's all up to the players looking for a game like that and stumbling upon it.

Same, hoping somehow we can get a BIG Paintball influence to talk about the Game. Only Companies I've seen even mention it are Tippmann and Social Paintball.

Their amount is just ridiculous.

Especially for a game on one system, and a limited play base. There are games that release on all systems and have a larger player base and they dont ask for that much on kickstarter..

Most of those games, though, are using existing licensed tech. They pay a small/medium fee, or if it's something they've done prior possibly the prior stuff, and tweak it and build up.

WXP created the engine they used in GHTP/MAX'D, and this new game will have a custom created engine to bring it into the new generation as well. In addition it's going to be built with Competitive Multiplayer in mind so it's going to be heavy on the online component, and things requested by the fans, and things they couldn't put in the past.

So once funding is reached they'll staff up, and build from the ground up a whole new sequel to MAX'D for the PC as the base, but then if the support is there they'll bring the game to XB360/PS3.

The idea is that by starting on the PC they have the biggest amount of open design. They can build the game like they want, like the fans want, and build it right w/o the restrictions of coming out under a publishing/distribution house. The game will "ship" so to speak as their vision without saying "You have to release no matter what on X day!". It also allows them to beta test like crazy, tweak, and have a huge amount of data to work with.

Then if the support is there they'll get it ready for consoles, and say "look we have a successful PC game, it's been tested to hell and back" and get a publisher to release on consoles since the product will be ready for that.

Hope that sheds some light.

Yeah I would expect most of that. Point still stands. Its not going to get funded, especially if they don't start getting some kind of promos and commercials out there.

There are just over 600,000 users on pbnation. If everyone donated a dollar, that would be great. Just an estimate, but I'd say less than half of those are actually active. Even less play PC games. Even less are willing to donate to something like this.

They NEED to get the word out even more and do something to build hype or they just wont get there.
