Leak question
Hey so I tried searching through the forum here but couldn't find the same issue (sorry I'm sure it's on here somewhere). So today I removed my HPA tank from my A5 and when I did the whole bottle leaked out. Is there going to be an issue next time I go and fill it up? Are there o rings on the regulator maybe one blew? How should I troubleshoot this. I just want to make sure it's safe.

Did it leak from the pin valve or somewhere else on the reg?

To be honest I'm not sure. I just started to panic and unscrew when the leak started. I think it eventually ran out of air and stopped.

Probably just the pin valve which can sometimes stick open like that. Is it springy when you push on it?

did you hear a loud pop and a rush of air? If so, you could have blown a burst disk on the regulator, which is a safety device put in place in case the seal is not working inside the regulator and it begins to over-pressurize. If it over-pressurizes to 1800psi or more, the burst disk is designed to "pop" and all of the air will escape out in a matter of seconds.
In order for us to help you, let us know which manufacturer's regulator you have and if you heard a loud pop and how long the air took to rush out of your air system.

Hey...
So there wasn't a loud pop, just a rush of air coming out of the tank. It took a bit for it to empty the tank. It's a Pure Energy tank. Is it possible that the regulator came off of it?

If the reg came off you would know it because the cylinder would be across the room and the air would be out of it in about two seconds.
You need to find where the leak was/is. How much pressure was in your tank when you had this leak?

I probably was at 1500 when I was taking it off the gun... How do I find out where the leak is located? Just take it to a shop?

Yeah I'd start by getting some air in the tank.

Quick question for you since it isn't clear in your first couple of posts.....did you take the tank completely off and it was still leaking while not attached to anything? Or were you taking it off, it started to leak so you didn't continue to take it off?

It started leaking while I was removing it. When I was completely removed it continued to leak for about 15 to 30 seconds until empty

Gotcha. If there was no POP sound first, then it is likely what Dyoel182 said earlier - the pin probably got stuck and let the air out.
If there was a pop, that usually is associated with a burst disk
If it starts to leak immediately after a fill, that is usually the fill nipple o-ring.

That is what its sounding like to me too. Probably a pin valve leak. If its a pure energy, you might not be able to find parts as I dont think Kee offers parts for their regulators. Might want to give them a call and see what they recommend.

Okay thanks you guys. I'll take it to a shop with me tomorrow to have them fill it and see what they say. If I can't find the parts I could just get a new reg though for it right my bottle isn't done for?

Right but even that is pretty drastic. It may just need the bonnet popped off to check the pin valve and spring.

 - the important thing is you found out the issue, got it fixed, and now back in business.
