Don't have to have jerseys and pants. My first tournament we just all wore white t-shirts and shorts/pants.
Jerseys look nice and what not but not necessary.

Just come up with a team name, wear similar clothing (white t-shirt) and maybe get a black marker and write the team name/your number/last name, whatever you want. Last name is pretty much the typical since at our field we had a captain which signs off on making sure the score was right on score card and if your last name is shown then they can locate you easier.

Really is no reason to go overboard on the first tournament. You can grab cheap jerseys if you would like, otherwise, just talk to the field about entering your team and sign the dotted lines, show up, and play.

Yep, this man knows what's up. We did splurge on similar gear, we all wear Army Combat Shirts and ACU pants, but our setups are left to us. Team colors are red and black, so we have to have something on us that shows that color. Team name is pretty easy if you can all agree on it. Shirts are a good idea, I like bandanas and stuff...

Depends on what league you plan to play in. Some require you to wear like longsleeves. Some colors are banned. Check up with your local league on the rules.

You can get long sleeve jerseys that all match, even with patterns on it. If you guys do plan to stay in the tournament seen though, after you may want to buy some basic Eclipse, Dye, Valken, or even Raza jerseys with your names and number. Eventually (if you guys want to play PSP or in another league) you may want to go for Raza Semi or Fully customs or for something from S2-Customs.

But for now start with either long sleeves or cheaper matching jerseys

Riptide is cooler.

I wouldn't even worry about the matching bit. Any group of scrubs can go on [insert paintball store].com and buy some matching duds, and it won't mean a thing on the field. We've got a couple teams in my area that pretty much just raid the local thrift stores before events and play in whatever weird stuff they come up with. They look goofy as hell, last event one of their dudes was wearing pink, Hello Kitty footy-pajamas, but they can straight up ball.

From what I've seen too many new teams worry about their appearance too much, when that is really the least important thing. Your number one priority should be organizing your scheduling and finances. All that matching gear doesn't mean squat if you can't pay for an event or practice, and then get everyone to show up on time. Early on, your number one focus should be practice/scrimmaging to build skills, and playing tournaments for experience.

Set some realistic goals that are within the team's reach, and few more that might be a bit of a stretch, and set about going for them as hard as you can. Play hard, play FAIR, make friends, and above all else, HAVE FUN. Good luck.

What this guy said. Don't worry about the unimportant stuff like team name, jerseys, etc. Get out their and practice with your guys as much as possible.

+1 Functioning as a team should be your #1 priority. What you look like really doesn't matter.
