When learning trigger control only take out a small certain amount of paint. There is no reason to have 4-5 pods with you when you only want to shoot one. There is no rule that says you have to walk around with a full pack. I normally either play hopper ball or take out just one pod during a big game.

When playing hopper ball:
-pick your shots, no need to get into a gunfight with someone where luck is the determinding factor in who gets shot.
-go for angles, don't try to take an opponent on front to front, try to press up the field and expose the side of the other player
-5 bps will often work as well as 12.5bps
-Aim small miss small, don't spend 150 paintballs trying to hit someone's toe
-Set your gun to semi

I say 2 bags (1000 paintballs) for a day of speedball would be enough.

Playing rec at my local fields keeps me conservative on paint.

I may use 1/2 a case on a normal day, but when it comes to playing with all speedballers, sign me up for 2 cases.

This is true, I saw one guy last a whole day on just two days with his axe. He either bunkered people or shot them as they were running towards him

If you are a runner you should be good, if you are staying at the start point you will shoot much more. Get up there in the fight. A case will last me the day in speedball because I am always up front and moving. Sometimes it means I get lit up, but sometimes I light them up!!!

1 Case is usually enough for me (been playing for 4 years).
If you don't see someone...don't shoot.
I always bust out laughing when I look to my left/right and theres a stream of paint going past a bunker that no one is at or anywhere near.

years ago lol and i do mean years ago like 1999! when i was playing hard core almost every weekend.. I would almost go thru a fill case of paint in a day playing Rec / woodsball.. i was very trigger happy with my autococker...

Then one day the guy I got to talking to the guy i bought my cocker from and he would go out and play with a OLD school pump gun he had modded up and only had a 50round hopper on it and 1 other 50round pod that he would bring with him out into the woods.

After hearing this, i started playing hopper ball, or maybe bringing 1 pod out with me.. And i quickly learned to be selective on my shots and if I didnt have a shot on the guy after 3 good shots, to not even bother with that target.

but yea set your gun to semi-auto and call it good... start out playing hopper ball with 1 or 2 pods and then cut down to 1 pod if need be.. you'll be surprised as to how much paint you will save by doing this.

At our practices I would only shoot a case and be perfectly fine for the day. Granted our practices were usually from 10-2. Tournaments on the other hand are different. I didn't care how many cases I went through.

Moral of the story: buy one case, play paintball, be happy.

When you are playing rec ball you shouldn't need to spray paints to get people out.

Trigger control also helps in concealing yourself on the field because once you start shooting/spamming paints everybody knows where you're at( Sound )

and some people who has an angle to get to you can just simply pop up and pop a paint on your mask, 2-3 if they had to adjust after the first one.

Also a very good way to conserve your paint is to play with Pump Action Paintball gun... It is a good way to restrain yourself
