Its usually just when i turn the gun on its takes a few half shots/trigger pulls to get shooting then once it does its fine until i turn off my shocker then i have to do the same thing when i turn it on again.

Have you tested out the stock bolt? Your solenoid could be dirty or you may need a fresh battery.

I posted this in another thread, but I thought it would be good to post it here as well:

As Lurker and others have pointed out, these are the 3 metric o-rings that I think are the most likely substitutes for the #12 to get less bolt stick. If you plan on getting these o-rings, I recommend trying them in the order below from loosest to tightest. Product numbers from McMaster's website have been provided to hasten your purchase if you so choose to pursue this on your own.

Substitute #1: 1.6 x 9.1mm

This one is smaller in all dimensions (cord diameter, ID, and OD) than the #12. The OD is the smallest of the 3 and would actually be even smaller due to the additional stretching caused by having a slightly smaller ID than the #12. This would most likely be the loosest of the 3 and possibly more prone to leaking. But, if it seals, this bad boy should reap wondrous results.

Substitute #2: 1.5 x 9.5mm

If #1 leaks, then this o-ring is our middle man. It has the smallest cord diameter and largest ID of the 3. However, the OD still comes in a little bigger than #1 yet still a little smaller than #3. The larger ID and smaller cord diameter (compared to a #12) may give it a higher tendency to roll back and forth in the pocket and increase chances for spiral failure (though I think the problem is negligible).

Substitute #3: 1.9 x 8.8mm

This is the "fattest" and I would also dare say toughest member of the group. It has the largest cord diameter but the smallest ID of the 3. The OD is just over 2 tenths of a mm smaller than a #12, but the smaller ID will cause it to stretch in the bolt guide pocket and possibly decrease the OD just a little further. The larger cord diameter and tighter fit will make spiral failure almost nonexistent though I do wonder if it's sealing properties will be affected due to being stretched a little.

Everybody's guns will have small differences in dimensions and tolerances, so any or none of these could work for you. I plan on getting all 3 and just seeing how it goes.

Sounds like your dwell may but be up high enough or you have an o-ring or2 that is way too tight. Could also be a weak battery. I would check thE battery first. Also put your thumb over the Allen hole in the back of the guide and try to shoot. If it shoots with your thumb over the hole then it's probably either the rear guide o-ring or the inner sleeve o-ring not sealing.

someone once told me it is unwise to plug holes of compressed air with your skin.. maybe use an Allen key? or perhaps I'm paranoid.

Your paranoid. I mean dont try to plug a tank leak with anywhere from 800 psi- 4500 psi with your finger that'll cut a hole right through you but the little 180ish psi in a shocker I wouldnt worry about your pretty much covering that little puff you get in the face when shooting your eigen

Actually 180 psi could kill you. Look up air embolisms. But since the air coming out the back of the guide has other avenues of escape it's not an issue and you would need to puncture your skin first as well.

this is what I was concerned about. air bubbles in blood. I know it's not wise to repeatedly shoot air down your empty barrel into your palm...

just fyi unless you're injecting discrete bubbles directly into a vein there is no risk of embolism

I finally got a chance to install an EB in my buddy's SFT this evening. It was honking like crazy with the silicone o-rings so we swapped 'em out with some HNBRs I had on hand and it was shootin' like an MG42.

Unfortunately, I failed to get a chrono reading before swapping in the EB, so I don't know if there was any increase in FPS. The pressure was around 150 psi and it was shooting in the mid 280s/low 290s - I suppose that's good. I should point out everything is stock on his gun except for an HE can.

Honking on air up? Mine was doing that too, but threading my bolt guide all the way in solved it for me, oddly. what color are silicon o-rings? clear? I have one clear ring in my bolt assembly, in my bolt sleeve. And the clear green 12/70's on my bolt guide.

But with high pressure bursts of air directly onto skin, can't you inject air under your skin and possibly get an infection?

Not from shooting a paintball gun. And it's not about risking infection, it's about air bubbles getting into your bloodstream. That's why when you get shots, they tip the syringe up and squirt out some fluid to make sure there's no air in the syringe when they inject you.

I'm not talking about embolisms. I remember learning in my engineering class not to seal a pneumatic hose with your finger because the pressure could push debris/air under your skin (not necessarily into your bloodstream).

It was honking when it was shooting.

The silicon o-rings are a rusty orange/red color. The clear o-ring would be urethane.

I just had one of my bolt guide Orings commit Hara-Kiri. I found one from my spares kit that somewhat works, but I want to have the correct one. What size do I need?
