Getting scratches/etching off a gun

I traded for an Ego 07 recently. I love the way it shoots and don't regret the trade, but the trader neglected to tell me that some genius decided to etch a bunch of crap on the body of the gun (random words like "pain is temporary"). I fixed the gun up (leak) but now the etching is bothering me.
It looks like someone grabbed a nail and etched words onto the body. They aren't insanely deep, but they are noticeable. If you run your finger across the gun, you can feel them.
Is there any way to reduce the etching? I know what's done is done, but can I make it less noticeable..without paying an arm and a leg?

Single color anno isn't that expensive and they can probably buff it out for you if it's not too deep while they're stripping the previous anno.
