I'm going to give this a shot and see if it goes anywhere. Here's where you can upload a RAW file for anyone in ST: P to try their hand at processing and repost the result. Here's a few things to keep in mind:

• Please do not submit RAW images that you do not have ownership/rights to.
• By submitting a file, you realize that your image will be available in RAW format for public download on the Red Dog Visuals server. I request that everyone be courteous and credit the original photographer whenever posting, and that your use of the image is limited to the purpose defined here.
• No one here is responsible for any misuse of your submitted image.
• If you find it necessary to quote an image in your post for reference, please remove the IMG tags so as not to clutter the thread.
• We're in this to learn, gain ideas, and become better photographers. Please treat everyone with respect.

How it will work:

1. Email your raw files to this address. Please include your name, DBA (if applicable) and your PBN username. If you get a return to sender notification due to attachment size, please let me know!
2. I will upload the image to my server and supply a download link in this thread, along with an unprocessed preview and credit you by first name, DBA, and PBN username. I'll also put some basic metadata like the exposure info, camera model, and lens used.
3. Anyone reading the thread will be free to download, process, and repost the final result in this thread. Hosting for processed images is the responsibility of the individual doing the processing.
4. RAW files will be taken down after one week from posting.
5. If you're using software other than Lightroom, please specify.
6. If you want to post multiple edits of the same file feel free, but please limit to no more than three edits per image, per user.
7. I welcome constructive criticism on all RAW edits, but please be courteous and constructive in your comments.

The email account and hosting space are ready for the first submissions. Let's get started!

This is actually a pretty cool thread! I've actually got a photo I posted in the serious critique thread that I may submit, just because I'd like to see some people's different take on it.

I dig the idea and I'll find a raw to send later for someone else to give it a shot. It will be interesting to see how someone will take a photo in a direction I hadn't thought of. Should it be required that the original owner be sent the .xmp or preset if they want it from an editor?

I'd say not, though I'd think the person doing the edit would be obliged to guide the original owner (and/or the group) in their perception and execution of the edit. No single preset works for all photos, and I'm more inclined for this to be a 'teach a man to fish' rather than a 'give a man a fish' type of exercise.

I'd rather breakdown the process through discussion then be given an xmp or preset file.

Plus I think discussing the process/workflow of other photographers is infinitely more helpful then just handing off the preset.
