Chili- Beans or No Beans?
We here in Texas invented chili. And the first men to eat chili did so without beans, simply because they didn't have all day to soften up some beans, and then cook the chili, too. They were too busy doing manly things like fighting redskins, drinking whiskey, or lassoing cattle.
That said, the tradition has carried on here, and the majority of chilis made here do not have any beans in them. Rather, we fill the space with meat- lots of it. Some may say that chili is better with beans, but I posit that chili is at least three times more pleasing to the pallet without the evil legumes. They create a texture that would make a goat spit it out immediately, and a taste that is far more foul than buzzard **** covered roadkill.
However, some say that chili is better with beans, and I'd like your input, ST.

You're an idiot for asking this question. Different kinds of chili are different kinds of chili.
However, here in Texas we use beans. In fact, this weekend at the Viper scenario they had a chili cookoff and my team won. Ground beef, buffalo, venison and italian sausage w/ pinto beans, black beans and kidney beans plus 15 million other things. We won, of course.
Edit: I actually just read your post. I cant believe you just said it doesnt have beans. You are a disgrace.
