The deadlywind is only an upgrade for a marker when the marker doesn't have a barrel that accepts freak inserts. Since the stock barrel uses the same system as the deadlywind you will see no differences between the two.
The stock barrel on the luxe is very balanced with the marker weight giving even distributation of front to back weight with a 49/45 tank. With a deadlywind barrel you will find the luxe to be backheavy with any tank.

I disagree with that... The DW barrels have less porting and have always seemed louder.

I love mine. 14" and it's most definitely more quiet than the factory barrel. No complaints here!

Do you own this barrel? I have 3 of these barrels in different lengths. I'm telling you right now I can air up the marker chrono to 300 and pop off a hounded shots then only switch the barrels and the markers shot noise is significantly and noticing louder than it was with the dw barrel. That is one of the reasons I use this barrel. That and the fact I can shoot through breaks in just a few rounds
I will note all 3 of my barrels were purchased from Colin several years ago, unless the porting style has changed this barrel definitely quiets the marker down.

My teammate uses a whip tip on his all the time with no issues.
I personally think with his settings it sounds the same ...just lighter feel on the front end.

Yea I love mine it seems (seems) quieter but that isnt confirmed I will say without a doubt it is lighter which really lets you whip it around change directions and snap better but some people dont like the balance issue... to me I prefer to have the center of gravity as close to my body as possible

I have a DW barrel on my rev-i and love it, but I'd never put one on my luxe.
