"Why bothe- oh."
I'm sure it works fine. It's purported to be the softest forcefeeder on paint. The only issue I can see is if it's sound activated.

The Z2 was originally designed as a pump hopper, but developed into what it is today, I'm told.

I know the shells without the internals would be a great profile hopper to carry a butt load of paint.

I can tell you that Super_Stanchy was as giddy as a school girl with his Spire today.

hehehehehe
i LOVE my spire.
i got it on thursday night (ordered it from gearheadz paintball!)
I threw it on my Phantom... because i built a new loudner and figured i could test both at once!
Now I am AGAINST big hoppers on phantoms
This worked GREAT.
It was light, it was low profile, it fit, it didnt double feed (using a net fit freak insert .682 or .682ish draxxus field)
After a couple games, i threw it on my ccm t2
Its amazing.
I NEVER double fed, I NEVER had a problem with anything, I even dumped a pod of broken paint in on accident, still fed great (barrel shot like poo, but thats a different story, lol)
After I came off the field, I tore it apart, 1 button/lock for the upper lid, 1 button for the tray. thats it. wiped it all down with a micro fibre, she was clean and ready to roll before my little bro could clean my pod out.
we shot the most brittle paint i've shot since the GI 5 Star at HB in 2011, it was stupidly brittle, and it fed great all day
No idea on battery life, put random AA's in it, and have been pulsing it non stop for the last few days, they are still working, its really fun to tap on the top of the shell and see how face you can get it to spin!
No idea on durability, but no scratches or damage from a long hard day of woodsball (threw myself into a bunker of broken branches) and afternoon of speedball/hyperball
I gave my rotor to my little bro.
Spire from here out for me.
EDIT:
Virtue Crown2 needs some more work... i lose so many freaking balls out of it... (with the stock 5 short, 5 long fins)
want to try 10 long fins next time

Thank you for that. I just have one question. I know the spire is lighter than the rotor when empty, but with paint, is it heavier (spire holds more paint, not sure how much more weight the paint adds)?
You might not even be able to tell, I was just curious.

Weight with paint... I'll bring some paint and hoppers to work tomorrow
I just left the house
My t2 is top heavy when loaded with a full rotor
I didn't notice it with a full spire...

Thanks. I'm guessing that since it sits lower than the rotor, the weight distribution just feels better.

I used it for a long game Yesterday.
Here is what I think:
What I liked
1. It was super quite. I never heard it
2. Feed fast enough for my A/T
3. Was really light when it was empty. It was about the same weight as a rotor
4. The majority of the weight were toward the bottom so it felt slightly better. I don't roll my gun out so that is not a huge thing for me.
What I thought was different
1. I kept on hitting my mask with the hopper because I used a 48/4500 and the spire sits further back than the rotor.
2. It is a PITA to empty out the loader back into pods. You can't just turn it on and let it run. Popping the top and dumping it back resulted in a few spills.
3. The Unlock button/tab seem to want to go back to the unlock position specially when you are opening the lid. Not a big deal but I wish there was some resistance required to change the position of the unlock button/tab.
4. I took a shot to the side of lid attachment and the lid popped open.
IMO if you have a rotor already, stick with what works.

does it put noticeable pressure on the ball stack? When i first started using the rotor before i turned the tension down, you could feel the pressure on the bolt. afterwards its was fine.

My tension screw is backed out all the way on my rotor.
I can't feel any tension with either hoppers.
