Question Codes for bunkers...

I've been going crazy trying to write codes for my team.

Any suggestions or examples anyone could offer would be awesome. Bunker names, moves, directions, etc...

Any help appreciated. Thanks.

Pick something that is easy for everyone on the team to remember. Every team is different. When you look at a layout you will play, make up easy names to remember with the team present so everyone knows. The names can be anything. Ex., we had a bunker called Turtle before because it was right in front of the center A so it looked like a turtle in a shell. It worked for us.

keep it simple.
no point having the code if half the team forgets it in the middle of a game.

Pick a set of codes you can use over and over again, that is adaptable to each different layout you play.

During the game, the adrenalin can make people think weird. While walking the field, it is easy to make decisions, but when your brain is processing 100 things a second, getting new information and having to make a split second decision while not even having all the info can really ruin a game. So here are some things to keep in mind:

--Easy to remember. Sure, hearing it can jog the memory, but when it needs to be called out, will it come to mind? Some teams will use other languages (Spanish, German, etc.) to communicate. If everyone speaks that second language, great. You'll be able to talk to each other without using and "code." But if one guy doesn't speak that language, he could be delayed making a call as he tries to remember what it is.

--Not confusing. Don't name a bunker something that could be confused with another bunker. I.E., don't try to be sly and mix up names (calling doritos snakes, and the snake doritos). While this could work really well by making the other team think you're confusing, your own team could actually get confused. Calling snake (when you mean dorito) could make your teammate actually look snake side when he should have looked D.

--No two codes sound alike. Similar situation as above. Lets say you call "head" (I've heard this for S1) but your teammate hears "dead," he might think someone is gone rather than looking a certain way.

use abcd like that or 123 and so on you will take more time saying a name then to just say a letter or a number and if you use a name you risk you or a team mate getting shot or them missing the player you want them to take out

Nouns, alphabet, numbers, States

Those are the big things. 2 words aren't as good, unless they are State names. No long words either. Needs to be said in half a second.

Don't use words that rhyme for different bunkers. It's hard enough to hear without having to sort out "can" from "stand" etc. Use very distinct words.

try to avoid words that sound similar when yelled because you lose syllables.

e.g. GO! WHOAH!

all you really hear is the "OH" when its being yelled.

Keep them short a sweet, less to be confused.
Use the same name for similar bunker spots. IE use Alpha for a back center or similar slotted bunker every time.
The easier the names are to remember and say the more likely the players are to use them and remember them correctly.
make sure none of them sound similar to your elimination / your bodies lost counts.

I should really put some codes together... But Xbox for the race, I've heard Raptor used for mid-center, I know a team who switches around dorito and snake, so they'd yell dorito 1 instead of snake 1. Simple stuff like that, and if it throws the other team off, good.

I personally like snake and dorito reversed, corner over snake is cobra. Good bunker names that are easy to remember and hard to mix up: beast, god, sonic, pickle, money, earth, wind, fire, ect...

Then use field calls like 1-4 hundred for position across field and something distinguished for last enemy, like Carolina or thunder dome.

Kill counts such as 11, 22, 33 or color codes in roygbiv order.

Codes are not really something super important. What you need to know is that it doesn't matter if the other team hears you yell them. They are not made to confuse them, they are made so your team can easily know the information.

Kill codes:

I personally dislike things like Weasel, Fire, G because it is easy to miss the numbers and G sounds like D.

The best ones I know are 100,200,300,400, 500. Each one matches a player being shot out. There is also Monday-Friday. You could also use 55 which means both teams have a player. This goes into 54 if you shoot someone, or 45 if one of you get shot.

The back line is usually 1,2,3,4,5 left to right regardless of which way you are looking at it. JUst find the 5 back bunkers(Corners, home, 2 in between)

Doritos D1, D2 and such.

Other than that just make up easy to remember ones. Popular: Beast, God, Xbox(which is usually the bunker at the X).

Use words that are short and get the point across. When I played, the field had yard makers on the side like a football field so this made it somewhat easy to make calls

Don't use G1 G2 G3 for example as it may sound like D1 D2 ect.

Just make sure the calls will be precise, but quick and to the point. You dont want to spend the game remembering the calls either, so make them easy to remember
