We're talking college football here, which is a popular sport, that brings in a lot of money to most schools. The athletes can't even get a job because it would be a violation of NCAA rules. There would be nothing wrong with a normal kid working for a family friend or something to get by while in school, but if an athlete does a similar thing its a huge NCAA violation. Obviously it is impractical for a school to actually give the athlete money. But when a booster does give an athlete some extra cash, the NCAA can tell everyone its a huge scandal all they want, but I wont give a ****. That's all I'm saying.

Oregon would have the best recruiting classes every year, and would take the fun out of football. You know Nike would step in and buy everything.
I don't want that. At all.
.....I wouldn't mind colleges have a $400/mo stipend for athletes, as part of their scholarship. The military ROTC programs do this, and it prevents people from doing stupid **** for money.
