Mount Rushmore: Football version
If you had to create a Mount Rushmore of football coaches...you're limited to 4 (obviously) who would they be? This isnt the "best" but the brightest, most influential coaches of football. College and NFL are separate, to different.
So, to start, my Mt. Rushmore would consist of this:
Lombardi, Landry, Belichick, Schottenheimer Sr.
Lombardi because he was the OG. Football essentially doesnt exist without him.
Landry because he was the most badass mother ****er to ever walk the sideline of a football field.
Belichick because he's undoubtedly one of the greatest coaches of our generation. Even if you discredit his 3 championships as a HC due to the cheating, he's still the man. I have a super secret man crush on him.
Walsh because...**** you....west coast offense. Dude revolutionized football.
Now....discuss.

Jim Zorn, Norv Turner, Steve Spurrier, Marty Schottenheimer
Really though:
Tony Dungy
Vince Lombardi
Chuck Noll
Joe Gibbs (homer pick, but still a ****ing good coach)
Basically, all of these guys had their plans, formulas, and ways about going about things, and ****ing stuck to it.
Tony Dungy invented the Tampa 2 defense and took the Buccaneers from being a laughingstock to Super Bowl champions. **** Jon Gruden, that was Tony's team.
Vince, as previously mentioned, is the ****ing OG. He has the most important trophy in American sports named after him for ****'s sake.
Noll is another guy who's coaching style I absolutely admired him; hell, without him, Dungy wouldn't have been the coach he was.
Gibbs won three Super Bowls with three different starting quarterbacks (Theismann, Williams, Rypien) and three different running backs (Riggins, Smith, Byner), and also invented two formations (specifically to stop LT, as it were): the double tight set and the bunch trips formation.

All excellent choices. I didnt consider Dungy, but you definitely made an outstanding argument for him. Throw in the whole "first AA coach to win a SB" nonsense and yea, he's definitely a candidate.

Dungy and Gibbs are probably my two favorite all-time coaches.

Leaving Walsh off this list is a massive mistake.

No Walsh? I'm editing Schotty out to be a contender with Walsh as the 4th face.

I'm heavily factoring in the fact that the guy had two ****ing awesome quarterbacks (including one of the GOAT's) to help him along. He did a very good job of revolutionizing the West Coast passing game, though.
In fact, yeah, I guess he would have to be up there; my main requirement is that the coach brought something new to the sport, or at least drastically changed the way things were done. Walsh definitely accomplished that.

Jerry Jones? I know he doesn't have the title "Head Coach" but unofficially, we know who runs the show.

Putting Dungy on over Belichick when they coached at the same time and Belichick was much more successful is dumb.

I'm going Lombardi, Parcells, Belichick, and Walsh. Jimmie Johnson is pretty underrated as a coach as well. He built dominant teams in college and the NFL.

Lombardi, Walsh, Belichick.
Fourth is a tie between Chuck Noll, Tom Landry, Joe Gibbs, George Halas.
----------------------------------------
If we did one for college, it would be really tough.
The locks are
Bear Bryant, Knute Rockne, Nick Saban
But so many other greats that could take that 4th spot. Woody Hayes, Bo Schembechler, Bobby Bowden, Tom Osbourne
