Evil scion 68/5000

I have one of these that's in perfect condition. It needs to be hydro'd. It has a red bonnet and gauge. Would it be worth keeping? And using...thanks.

It may be getting close to the 15 year life span of the cylinder but other then that there is nothing wrong with it. If you have reservations about the Scion reg itself you can always do a reg swap with another brand.

Tabris17, another thing if the regualtor is swapped out, it's a 4500psi tank. I don't know if any 500o psi regs exist.

My advice. if you can fill it to 5000psi, keep it, and re hydro it. If no 5000psi available. sell it to someone who can use a 5000psi tank. get a newer tank with a 4500psi reg.

The Scion reg is a 4500 psi reg as I recall but it has been a long time.
The angle of the 5000 psi tanks were that if a field were to over fill 4500 psi by a few hundred, it wasn't a big deal because the tank is rated for 5000 psi. Very few fields actually have the capability to fill to 5000 psi.
But you could safely attach a 4500 psi reg to it and use it at 4500 psi.
