Which marker to purchase?

I am looking to buy a paintball marker after enjoying paintball quiet a few times. I have been looking at the Custom 98 Platinum and Pro but I want to know what other guns i should look at for under 250USD. I am buying it to play woodsball. Also is the 98 Pro wort the extra 20?

best option is to buy a speedball gun because its a higher caliber gun that a woodsball gun, but the majority of players use speedball guns for woodsball
here are some guns to look at
invert mini v3
proto slg
proto matrix rail
dangerous power e1
you can get an angel a1 for under 250 these days they are great guns for the present day price
proto reflex rail

All the guns mentioned are great but not what he is looking at.
His budget may not allow for compressed air, fancy hopper or electro guns.

What is the more popular gun at your field?
What does the Pro-Shop stock parts for?

Whatever you choose, save money for a good barrel kit with small bores to handle current paints. Many stock barrels are large at .689 or bigger. Most paint is .682 or smaller.

A high-end mask is also a good investment.

If most people use electros, you may feel outgunned with a Tippman/ Spyder.

I would highly reccomend avoiding "Walmart" guns like the Lancer / Viewloader etc Spyder clones. They tend not to last long term.

I'd prefer a Tippmann A5 over the Mod 98.
Same internals but more options.
I do not know the differences between the 98s so I'm no help there.

Most of my guns have been "used".
Saved a ton over paying new pricing plus they sometimes come with extras like Revy hoppers, packs/pods, tanks etc.
Tanks need to be hydro tested every 5yrs ( some fiber HPA are 3yr). Keep that in mind if you buy used.
