I pulled out my old Ion today to fix it up. My wife wants to play again but she hates being out gunned when she uses a rental. So I said I'd try and help her out.

When I attached the air the bolt (techt t) shot forward and the gun started pissing air out of the barrel. So I took it apart put the stock bolt back in, wiped the old lube off and regreased it. Everything went back together smoothly. So I aired back up and the same thing happened again. I jammed a squeegee down the breech and rocked the bolt back... This worked however its a pain in the *** cause it seems to choose when it wants to work. This didn't work with the techt bolt in place as I originally tried that first.

Fresh battery just put in

Virtue eyes

Just tryin to figure out what's going on.
Don't tell me to read the manual
And yes I checked the site for this issue but there's too many threads and the headings aren't descriptive enough

There are two o-rings on the inside of the body. That seal the air on the main body of the bolt. It's probably one if not both of the those o-rings. Make sure you use Dow 33 so you don't get bolt stick. Good luck.

When the bolt is thrown forward...

The sail oring (largest oring on the bolt) is bad.
The oring in the breech just behind the feed neck is bad.
The solenoid is not sealing. Check the seal at the bottom of the armature and clean out the housing.
The QEV is jammed in the exhaust position.
Debris blocking the solenoid's plastic barb or the middle hose.
