G6r "ping" noise

My G6r makes the "ping" sound when it fires.
I don't mind it but it can get annoying during long games.

I was told to put some Dow55 on the back end of the ram.
Other than buying the no ping ram, any other suggestions?

another question that just came to mind.
I'm using an SLP (of course) and a LP poppet, what setting are you guys using with a similar setup to get a sweet spot? (pressures, dwell, etc.)

If it bothers you that bad you could get a "zero ping" ram from techt. The sound will still be there, but will be a less noticeable "thud" rather then the ping you are describing.
I would recommend balancing your regs using the lurker method in the stickies. Everyone's pressures are going to be different. Properly balancing your regs is the only way you will be running your gun at its proper pressures.

You could try supergluing a small oring (small and thin) to the back to act as a bumper.

Also make sure that it's actually your ram that's pinging. Some tank regs ping.

Myths pings, SLPs don't ping. I don't think I've had any ninja reg ping.

All tanks can ping, not just Myths. I've seen posts in the Ninja and Crossfire threads in the Air Systems forums asking about it, Myths are just the most common example. Something to do with the spring in the reg vibrating on recharge at a certain frequency. Ninjas typically don't do it but there are a few people asking about it in the air systems section. I've never had any sort of tank ping on me or heard a tank ping personally (out of a Nitroduck, Crossfire, Ninja, and PE system) so I'm just going by what I've read on the forums. Harmonics don't care what brand your tank is though so I'd imagine if the reg has the right dimensions and the right kind of spring it could have the potential to ping.

How is that sketchy? The ping you're hearing (assuming it's not your tank) is the ram hitting the back cap. How else would you fix that other than cushioning the impact? That's what the techt ram does for $30 (well they have a machined hole for the oring to sit in, but it's the same concept). People did it on Victories all the time. As long as you don't use a really thick oring it's not going to affect performance at all.

Just the idea of putting superglue on somewhere in the internals seems sketchy, I understand the concept though.

Then put it on the back cap and/or leave the back cap or ram (whichever you use the glue on) outside of the gun for 24 hours to be sure the glue sets. As long as you don't spray a huge gob of glue onto anything there won't be a problem.

True. I'm just going off of personal experience. Ive been playing paintball for about 14 years now and have yet to hear a ping come from a reg I've owned.
My g6r never really pinged. You could hear the ram hit the back cap, but you had to be listening for it. I got the techt ram for it to do my own little test to see if it did make a difference. The noise was still there, but more subtle.
As for gluing the oring on the back cap, I see no reason why it wouldn't work. It could cause issues if it came dislodged, but that will be dependent on your glue and oring choice. Do what was previously mentioned if you decide to go this route and make sure the glue is completely cured before you reattach the back cap.

lube up your tank piston oring.. don't use oil.

Don't do this. It may work for a bit, but eventually the oring will get smashed due to over compression, then pieces will find their way into your solenoid. I've fixed Marq's that tried this exact thing.

Like someone said, get the Tech T ram, the oring is 1/2way captured in a recess, so it doesn't get fully compressed and won't get smashed into pieces.

If you guys didn't know, HPR/LPR pistons and shraeder valves can also lead to that "ping" noise. See it first hand.

I had the ping noise shooting my G6R. Sweetspotted it using lurker method, still pinged, but less, LPR/HPR were at 57/210 and shooting 285, lower LPR made for a lower PING.

Shooting the gun and listening carefully made me realize it was really the SLP reg on my grey ghost (It was barely pinging even on my DM7). I cleaned and lubed the SLP reg and the ping practically dissapeared! I can still hear it a bit if I'm listening arefully but nothing to bother at all. BE carefull with that tank reg...gotta know what your doing!
