And what happens if I'm at a party that gets busted? Do they automatically assume that all persons over 21 are responsible for providing the alcohol for the party?

My concerns are these:
1. It's going to push people to drink off campus, where they might be tempted to drive back while intoxicated.
2. It's going to do nothing to reduce the availability of alcohol.
3. It's going to foster resentment against those who enforce the policy.

The second, if true, should negate any justification the university might have for enacting this.

It's a quagmire filled with everclear and jello shots.

I don't know. Maybe you're just burnt out. I guess you could try picking up another hobby for a while and perhaps after you've been away from the vidya for long enough you'll develop an itch to get into it again.

You should watch both seasons of Stargate Universe, then contemplate life and question how such a good show could get cancelled.

I still dont see how colleges can punish students for alcohol when they are underage. they are two totally different subjects. the school should have no jurisdiction on the matter unless they are underage and on a sports team

schools can make and enforce whatever rules they want. It reflects poorly on a school if its students are breaking the law on a regular basis

Absolutely. But when the new policy comes only with negative consequences, is it really beneficial to put it in place?

schools would rather their students get in trouble with the school than with the law. The stricter rules are meant as a deterrent.

I wish that's what my farts sounded like.

In fact, I wish everything sounded like a penguin being tickled. Imagine how much happier war would be if automatic gunfire was audible only as the squeaks and giggles of semi-aquatic arctic animals.

So they force them off campus with stricter drinking laws? Seems like a great way to achieve that.

When someone underage gets so ****ed up they puke themselves to death on campus, the school is liable. Off campus, the school is not liable. C'est la vie.

Schools are absolutely terrible with alcohol policy. Honestly I don't think that policy is very harsh, you're right though the idea that the policy can give a supplying to minors charge to someone in the vicinity of one drinking is bull****. How many people do you know who have ever received the charge though? It probably wouldnt be difficult to get the charge dropped in that situation with a moderately decent attorney. Don't think that is going to change anything on your campus people might just be more cautious about supplying to minors and tbh who gives a **** tell em to **** off and buy a fake and sack up or do what you've been doing. You're lucky you have a wet campus.

The school i was at the courts were absolutely packed everyday with minors in possession charges, they handed that **** out like candy. Here's a big idea how bout making the current policy on a store/bar selling liquor to a minor much harsher. Should trickle down and solve alot of whatever problems the university thinks they have. The Hawk is right too, its the frivolous lawsuits that **** everyone. You gotta think the school had some pressure from somewhere to issue the policy whether it be the D.A. , Alumni, Stupid Parents, Etc.
