So I'm very interested in getting a Geo 2 within the next few months and I'm curious when the best time to buy one would be.

The Geo 3 was already released so I've seen prices on older models decline recently, would you anticipate prices going down even more after world cup?

I think u have seen the bottom of the geo2 market for a while... They almost instantly dropped from 800 to 600. Being that the geo3 is more readily available, u should see a stabilization of geo2 pricing...

It's because idiots low price them. The true value of a Geo2.1 in lnib is $800+. Geo3's are $1,400 brand new. ****** kids who want money quick sell them for $600 and ruin the value.

No I'll never sell my Geo, It just frustrates me. It was a rant because i think its dumb that so many people undervalue they're guns to make a quick sale. There is no known universe where a Geo2.1 is truly worth less than 800, given its in good shape.

Cup is the best time to buy a used gun if you have the opportunity. People selling guns at amazing prices just to afford the new stuff.... its sad but I take advantage of it lol

That is capitalism for ya. In the universe of PBNation, Geo2s are selling for, on average, $650, with most selling for $600 or less. The value of anything is only worth what the market dictates its worth. This is mainly influenced by supply and demand. The problem we have is simply like you put it, people want to make a quick sale and so they dump them for cheap. This because most paintballers want the latest and greatest gun and most companies release guns annually. The market gets flooded with guns when there are a large number of people dumping them (usually around this time of the year, right before Cup), resulting in more supply than demand. Basic economics....Good luck trying to fight that!

Added: I'd say right now is the perfect time to buy a Geo. Geo1s are selling for $450, Geo2s ~$600, 2.1s around $700, and Geo3s for ~$1000. I'd say that the Geo1 has taken most of its depreciation hit for now, so you can pick one up for cheap, use it for a year, and still sell it for close to what you paid for it.

just picked up a geo 1 with gst kit and vicious sl3 reg and custom anno for the low price of two iphone4's

well depending on how much you got your iphone4, that isn't really a "low" price. A year ago i saw geo1 at $400 and geo+ at 500. When the 3 came out, i saw some geo go for $300 and geo+ sitting at $400 if they're lucky. For me, i can sell each of those iphone 4 at $200 a piece.

I sold 2x Geo2.1's a week before official pictures, and i sold it at $950 a piece. After the geo3 leaked, geo2.1's dropped immediately to $750-$800

I got my 2.1 for $625, but it needed some orings and TLC to shoot boobies. Totally worth it IMHO.

Patience is key. Have an idea of what you want to spend and have the dollars ready and available. People want cash now and no trades for best deal. Look everywhere too. PBnation, others on line, and even EBay are good sources. If you have a local paintball board frequent that too. I was able to trade my used Axe up to a Geo 2 locally within a couple of months because of being patient. I traded but believe me the people I traded with wanted cash. Money talks.

Geo 2 you can get for 550-600
Geo 2.1 is 700-800.

geo 1 for 400 or a geo + for 425. Geo + is really nice
