A thread about the show that always devolves into arguing over the most trivial, inconsequential details, like how an actor holds a firearm when they aren't even firing it.

And people complain that the show has too much irrelevant dialog.

It's basically the farm v2.0. I mean the part when Carol and Carl were talking? No one cares. I don't really care about Tyrese and Hershel talking about what will happen when Rick comes back either.

Plan to do a LOT of downloading. There are 106 comics out to date. Ive read them all... I am HOOKED! If you can find them for free good on you but @ 1.XX something for a digital read but 24/7 access its alright. I downloaded the bundle packs (like 5 issues per volume) and its like 4 bucks. You get a lot more background on characters but there are major differences.

The mayor and all that **** does happen in the comic. However, Andrea never leaves the prison (if I recall correctly). Dale doesnt die the way he does and Daryl and his brother do not exist. Most of the main plot points are correct (coma, run around Atlanta, Karl gets shot, Herschel's farm, then prison) but there is extra dialog to spice up the show and drag it out. Also, they change some of the interactions between characters. The Governor actually rapes and beats up Michonne in the comic instead the TV series shows the Governor belittling and tormenting Maggie. They are trying to build attachments for characters when specific events (that I will not reveal

) that will cause you to appreciate, hate, love, and sympathize them later. Also, they dont want to catch up to the comic in the first couple seasons. That would be bad business.

Its not terribly heavy. Part of it is to show fatigue and wariness however, it is also some shooting techniques have a shooter limp wrist especially engaging targets at different angles. Rick is supposed to be a character that bears the burden of his team/family/group. You will see as the show progresses that this state erodes and forms another man. His condition is eroding. Be forewarned... there is some ****ed up **** coming. I hope they dont the other half of the story during this portion of The Walking Dead.

I agree and disagree. Here is why I agree:

Basically... people just want to see zombies get shot to **** and people get eaten in a horrific manner. Plain and simple. But... if thats all the show was it wouldnt be much of a show. IE the buildup of Shane up through season 2 when in the comic he actually dies around the time they leave Atlanta. They are drawing it out.

Which brings me to why I disagree:

If they ran through the plot to all the juicy stuff then they can catch up to the comic by the beginning of season 5. The way they are drawing it out I think they will still be where they're at (had to reword it for spoilers :/ )

Who has read and is still reading the comic? Do you think they are going to get remotely near where it has been up to at this point? Do you think AMC will drop their dicks in the dirt?

I'm not one who watches the show just for zombies and seeing them get their heads blown off, but come on, do we really have to listen to Carol talk about how life used to be so loud?

The part where some of the new group wanted to take over the prison and Tyrese stopping them is acceptable. Shows what kind of people the others are and what kind of a leader/person Tyrese is. But let's get this show on the road.

Look, I'm not saying they need to squeeze all the **** into 4 seasons, but like BC said...I dont give a **** about Carol talking about how life and all that ****, is ****ing irrelevant. I just feel like they could be doing a lot more with whats going on then they are. I can understand having to set up characters and develop them, but c'mon man. This **** is getting slower and slower by the episode.

Even when people say the show is/was "boring", I still think it's great. Or at least better than 99% of TV shows.

Last Resort was 10000000X better then TWD, but because it didnt have a cult like following and lets face it, most things that are well written and well done are not accepted by the masses, it got cancelled. Zombies are the new craze, and this is just riding the wave. Its interesting, and certainly better then most apocalypse movies/shows, but it COULD be so much better.

I really dont see the problem with the dialog. Its there to show the stuggle each character is going through and how they come to make their decisions.

This is a completely different genre but Sons has slow episodes with a lot of character development as well. Both shows are great for what they are. Lets not forget season 1 played out the way it did because it was only 6 episodes. Im sure if they had a full season it would have played out like the show is now.

I thought Heros was fantastic season 1-2 then the writers strike happened and it turned to ****, so I stopped watching. If you dont like it dont watch it.
