Does anyone else have an opinion on whether or not the holes in the G5 bolt will eliminate bolt stick due to lube on the back cap bumper? There are also notches in the bumper, but I'm not sure if that was done on previous models or not.

if i end up getting a g5 in my hands, and liking it. i may end up machining a new part to screw into the back cap so it will be more consistent, and more efficient.

no, it wouldnt. the bumper is still flat with the base of the bolt. if the lube is thick enough, it will stick. i suggest keep that part dry. its shouldnt be lube anyway.

I think there are notches (at 180 degrees apart) on at least one of the markers - or so I seem to remember anyway. As for the boltstick, don't know. Typically it is the actual cohesion coefficient of the lube in contact with the outer rim of the bolt and the face of the backcap bumper. Just because the bolt tail has holes in it doesn't change that relationship. With a standard G3, G3 Spec-R, G4, etc. the air pressure around the bolt vs. the air pressure inside the bolt between the backcap and the backcap stem are going to be the same - or very close to the same.

Gotcha. I just thought I remembered reading somewhere that when the bumper is lubed, it creates a seal between the bolt and back cap that is hard to break.
I would say I'll probably pick one up, but I doubt I will. I don't need to spend money on paintball stuff.
