The main thing to know, dont plan on making a profit. I have ran through the numbers a number of times atleast for my area and the money just isnt there. Unless you own your own land, already have a building for a proshop, and are a major gun whore with a huge collection you can use as rental setups.
Just some rough figures, if you have a $10 entry and each player buys a case of paint that you make $35 off of (using the prices at my local field), then you would need 66 players to bring in almost $3k, of which you have to pay electric, insurance, marker/field repairs, taxes, then anything left you will use to pay employees/your self.

Why do you feel that way? DP has actually been really good with their internal air lines, all of their markers have it running from the VA to the solenoid/valve/dump chamber.

My buddy had issues with his spec-r but it was all lube issues. He still refuses to listen to me and change lubes.
All issues I have with my Luxe have been regulator related. DLX is willing to take care of it everytime but I hate having to ship stuff and wait for it to come back.
I love how DLX will cover a luxe that is serial #75 that has had multiple owners without batting an eyelash yet DP argued with me on a few month old Rev-i because it passed the "30 day warranty" lol. Who the hell offers 30 days on a $850 marker? If you play paintball every weekend that gives you a maximum of 4 uses before your warranty runs out lol.
There was a guy in the luxe forums who bought a used luxe that some idiot drilled a giant screw into the back of it. They replaced the entire body for him extremely cheap. Could you imagine DP in that situation? lolol.

This. My Luxes have never had a problem except for this last 1.5 Which I got rid of, which was a reg problem. Now my 2.0 has no problems (although ill know for sure once I take it to the field )

True, the investment is quite large, our field is lucky if they are in the black at the end of each month, and you will make next to nothing off speedball, rentals is where the $$ is made simply because it is a return on your investment. Since opening in March, our field finally had 2 really good months back to back and were able to profit enough to purchase a new set of bunkers., and that is a family run field with no employees

one of the orings is swelled. but idk why. i only use dow33, i have used other lubes like money poo and ****. but idk.
so the oring is swelled, and the engine wont go back all the way and sticks in the breach, preventing paint from going in.

do what i do. ask if you could borrow the gun and play a couple of games with it then service it your self once he gives you the gun.
me personally, i dont deal with the MFG CS. i rather fix it myself and i would rather have a lube problem, oring problem rather than a blown out eye cover, bad reg or bad solenoid. atleast i know when i fix my gun, it will be cheap.

It's always been my own fault. The luxe's major issue is the fact that it is VERY EASY to over-pressurize the regulator/solenoid. If you turn the manifold screw in too far (4 turns) then it is impossible to get your FPS above 260, so you keep turning the reg up wondering why it won't shoot high enough, so you lower the regulator and say okay I am going to pull out the feather touch screw and back the manifold screw to two turns... do this, turn the air back on and BAM the regulator is creeping and solenoid is venting. Once you overpressurize the regulator it is done, you need to send it to DLX.
I've blown 2 regs now, first one I blew because I didn't know the reg was reverse threaded and I was turning is up when I meant to turn it down. The 2nd time was because I had my manifold screw 4 turns in and it was impossible to get my FPS above 260 (it is the above story). So basically you just have to be really careful with their regs. Their regs suck and they creep a lot. Never met anyone who likes the regs on them.

been thinking about getting a 2.0 but they are soo expensive used. i like the gt too but i want to hold one first to see how that goes. not dropping 1k+ on a gun without holding one first. i like the luxe feel though but the gt still is more appealing to me on paper.
