Please, sir. May I have a cup of help with my Trilogy Pro?
I recently picked up an 03 Trilogy Pro Stock that the previous owner put some aftermarket bits on. I've never actually needed to work on my Trilogy Tactical, and I come from a Model 98 background, so I really would appreciate some tips and/or direction for this interesting combination of problems I'm having. It has an Orracle 3-way and a CP reg, otherwise it is apparently stock. I run air. Paint was pretty small for the barrel.
For the most part, it functions and fires normally, with a mild tendency to short stroke but it may just be the funky 'flame' trigger throwing me off. I had no issue with short stroking my Tac all day, but again, different trigger.
The velocity fluctuates wildly from one shot to the next. For example, I had shots at 240fps, and the next shot was 310, 312, and then back down to 280, 245, 270... Wash, rinse, repeat. My stock Tactical, same tank, is rarely -/+ 5-10fps over about 10 shots, and has about the same paint to barrel (mis)match.
When shot, it burps. I've tried to find some info on burping, but couldn't come up with anything.
Thanks!

Reason: Corrected model nomenclature.

Hey, fellow trilogy owner here. I have a few questions before I can give you an answer.
First, What barrel are you using? What bore and what brand?
Next, where did you get your paintballs? and how old are they?
Finally, what do you mean by orracle 3-way? Trilogy 3-ways are built into the body.
As for the short stroke, I had that issue when I swapped out my trigger as well. Part of it is not being used to the trigger and part of it is the trilogy not being able to be adjusted much.

The barrel came with it and is unmarked. Not sure of the bore or brand.
Paintballs were purchased yesterday at a shop near SC Village in SoCal. A couple of weeks old at worst. I shot a case of it through my Trilogy Tactical yesterday with no problems at all.
The 2003 Trilogy Prostock actually has a standard front block from what I understand; it sure looks like a standard block. The 3-way is external as on other 'cockers, as are the ram and LP reg.
Agreed on the trigger; I think the short stroking is just me, not the marker.

That's an 03 prostock, not a trilogy. That's good though.
Can you post a picture?

Stock barrel is an atrocious .689 bore..
Burping is caused by too high/low reg pressure, mismatched springs, too light of a hammer, and poor timing.

increase your lpr a bit at a time to rid the burps. don't jack it up to high then you have problems with your hose blowing out. search for 'sweet spotting' your reg. that should help your fps flux.

the wild fps jumps sound like partial roll outs im sure youve noticed with the trilly you have if the barrel is too big for the paint the balls will roll right out. on a cocker you really need a slight underbore (the paint will fit snugly in the barrel) which requires a barrel kit because paint is never the same size as the last time.
if you dont have a barrel kit a bit of tape on the inside of the barrel does the same thing, ala "ghetto widget mod".
