funny thing is that its always everybody else that is retarded until you realize the truth...
It's like comparing a Fisker karma and a Porsche Gt2... they are both cars, but very different underneath.

Well, the bolt is similar but not identical.
It's not as big a difference as a Karma and a Porsche.

Similar in that they're both spools, yeah. But that's pretty close to where the similarity ends. Honestly, the DM engine is closer to the PRR engine than the NT engine.

The NT doesn't have an LPR, has a poppet cut off valve, and has less pre expansion room in the bolt. It's a bit louder then the DM, but more efficient. Ergonomically, it has a lower profile then the DM as well.
Here is how a DM works:

And this is how the NT works:

Thanks for the descriptions, but the links sent me to a Russian (I think) website. I look on Dye website for videos. It was the techno talk that I was trying to avoid.

I've heard it referred to as "Dye Matrix NT"
Just like "Proto Matrix Rail"
Obviously both of those markers are different in function from the Matrix LED/LCD/DM4-13/PM5-8 series.

Seeing how both the manual for the NT and the NT11 have no mention of the word "Matrix" in them, and the fact that the NT's and DM's are clearly seperated on DYE's support site, I'm going to say the 1 piece of evidence you found was a mistake written by a 3rd party support monkey who wasn't entirely sure about what he was saying.

IMO, the distinguishing factors to make a Matrix a Matrix is the LPR, electropneumatic operation and something that looks like the fuse bolt.
Obviously, the above definition would exclude the DAM and the PMR... but I'm okay with that.
