Just picked up a Quest

A local paintball shop is going out of business, and I picked up a red quest that they had in the back for $25. I've wanted to own a Quest for years... and when I saw this one, I couldn't pass it up. It's missing a bolt, but I was able to power it up, and the eyes are working.... I've got a couple questions:

1) About how much do these go for used? (I don't want to spend too much money getting it up and running... considering I don't know if I'll like it or not)
2) I really love DM's... how will this guy compare?
3) Any problems I should watch out for, considering this marker has, probably, sat on a shelf for years?

1. Varies a bit, but usually right around $200
2. More efficient, much louder. Better stock trigger IMO.
3. Wire harness on some versions is very fragile.

Pick up a 4B bolt if you can (includes bolt guide), Critical RSF bolt + guide (I'm assuming it's missing the bolt guide also) otherwise. Throw an on/off on it, get the pressures set and enjoy.

Ah, so there is a bolt AND a guide... you aren't talking about the pin that screws into the back right (because I have that)?

Miller said it well

The pin that screws in the back is the bolt pin, or bolt guide. Same thing.
The only quest bolt that is not compatible with that pin is the 4b. But if you were to find one and buy one it would come with.

That said ill give you 75 for it right now
Nice find

As far as problems to look out for I'd say read through the sticky. People have broken bolts which is prob what happened to the one you picked up. That usually only happens when your low pressure is set too high or there were a few defective gold bolts that were prone to braking.
The quests are really simple. But like miller said the wires can be a bit fragile at times. Take special care when disassembling the marker. The wires connecting at the solenoid also are known to fail if they get manhandled. Usually it's under shrink wrap where it breaks. If your noid won't click check the wires they could need soldering.

Sweet... I contacted the distributor of the 4b, to see if they have any lying around, but I doubt I'll come across one anytime soon.

This is SERIOUSLY tempting, but I think I'm going to give it a chance first.

Nothing that REALLY interested me... a couple cockers, a couple Angels, a PM5... and a metric ton of spyders.

What cockers and how much? Could be a great starting point for a pump build. Nice find on the Quest btw.

I'm pretty sure you will love the quest once you get it going though

I would have to go by and ask, the only thing that I 100% recognized was an STO autococker that still had it's box and looked like this (not an actual picture, just something that I found online that looked as close to what I saw as I remember):

If you've got an idea about how much you would be willing to pay, I could go by again and check out pricing.
