Geo 2 - SL3 leaking

My Geo 2 is leaking air where the small hole that is located on the grip of the SL3.

I've replaced the orings on my piston and the regulator adjuster assembly with oring monkey orings. Still hissing slightly.

Any ideas?

Make sure the super small oring INSIDE the adjuster in the bottom portion of the reg is undamaged / well lubed or possibly try replacing it. This is the small oring that the skinny portion of the piston slides into.

To be more Specific: I'm talking about the 008 oring on the inside of the "Adjuster top" which you can see on page 8 of the Geo2 manual. Hope this helps

Tried 5 different 008 o rings and lubed the heck out of them. Still hissing out that hole. Also flipped the reg seat. At a loss....

Have you called PE?

My reg leaks when I air it up sometimes out of that hole, but if I take a shot it goes away. The SLP reg doesn't seal it completely for me the first time.

Check for any damage near the aluminum around all the seals.

Put a 14X2 oring on the piston. This will replace the 016 that is usually on the piston.

This. Also, check the inner wall of the reg body where the piston seals as well as the piston shaft to see if there are any mars or scratches that would prevent a good seal.

Another thing to look at might be your tank output pressure. If it's putting out too much pressure, the reg o-rings will have trouble holding the excess pressure back.

Have you done that? I would think that the 14x2 o-rings still a bit thicker than a #16 even if stretched around the piston head causing more friction that would slow the piston down and adversely affect recharge rates and consistency.

I have heard, that some guns that have sealing problems in the sl3s are to use a 14x2 o-ring too. By a Planet Eclipse tech that I work with. If a number #16 o-rings obviously isn't sealing the reg, then throw a 14x2 on it.

I'm tucking that away for future reference.

I have had great success using quad o-rings on the piston as well as the #008 on the inside of the adjuster top.
