Please, name one. Maybe Toronto paintball is different than the rest of the world, but your experiences always seem vastly different from those of others. Maybe play elsewhere?

After hearing all the excuses from the kid with A-5 E-grip and apex barrel I just ignore the rest and know I will gog them the next game.

21 years playing and I cant say if ever heard this one. Must be where you play.
Now I have heard lots of lame excuses when guns went down, batteries died, one team had better paint, one team had the better side, one team was stacked, bad calls by the ref, favoritism by the refs, wiping by the other team, players playing on, etc..
As for the OP's respect comment:
Its funny. The young players and novices might initially fear the guy with too much gun and gear for the situation. But the veteran players know this guy is compensating for lack of ability or otherwise scared of getting his feelings hurt (again). To these guys, yes, more respect is traditionally given to the player who is more effective with less gun...Not because of the gun - but because they are effective with less gun - and perhaps for even for trying to learn the game without the training wheels. And many players I have met are MORE effective as pump players.
I remember when my toddler threw his bibi out the window on purpose.
I remember taking when he asked me to take the training wheels off his bike.
I remember when he sold his invert because it waste too much paint.

I never really get any crap but a lot of newer players who have never heard of pump think I am crazy, but all of the older experienced players know not to underestimate me. Sometimes when some young kids come to play woodsball from playing speedball and they are wearing matching colorful valken jerseys and matching pants, I see them giving me a smug look because I am wearing all camo BDU's. They then go on to accuse me of shooting hot when I get them because get so close up to them.

I have a buddy that shoots pump only and most people don't understand why he does it. I shoot both, I think playing pump helps you even if you have an electro in your hands.

I absolutely love playing pump or limited paint. My pump project is currently in pieces (again... ) so I play with a Tac-Capped A5. That thing will hold 35 shots exactly, and I carry no extra paint. It's darn fun to play that way, making every shot count. People do instantly treat me like I know what I'm doing, which by this point in my paintball career, I think I should have some idea...My greatest pleasure is the matches against, as everyone described, the kid with the $1200 electro talking down to you. As soon as you whoop on a couple matches, they start to think that maybe your playing style isn't as stupid as they say.
tl;dr: I support pump because I play pump. Gog lots of trash-talkers. Peace.

i play pump only if i have pain from the previous day, usually 1 bag left. I can say most people on my field are shocked to see a pump gun, and others just want to brag about how the e-gun is more accurate. I dont brag when i play but when those kids that think they're good get gogged by my old pmi pump thats a cannon they change there thoughts on who to shoot the next game. Some players have different thoughts about pump play. I like being one of the few at my field but it does get annoying when people think I dont know what i'm doing.

I don't give any extra respect to pump players than any others, but if they shoot me I don't expect them to be wiping off hits...

Personally, I do believe pump players are better than speedball players. They know when to take a shot, how to take the shot, and when not the take the shot. I would choose a seasoned pump player over 3 speedballers any day!

I like using pumps because it feels like I'm using a shotgun. There's really not much more to it than that.
I personally don't care what other people use as long as they know how to use it and it works. What good does having a guy using a several thousand dollar set up do me when he can't take people out quickly and accurately? None at all. I'd rather take the guy sporting the airrowgun that can shoot marginally well.

Just because someone is playing pump doesn't mean they've automatically earned my respect, just like a guy using luxe or ego doesn't automatically. Somebody that plays effectively with a pump has probably developed a good skill set, and I respect that. Whatever you play with, I need to see you play before I form an opinion one way or the other. Just like I wouldn't expect you to form an opinion before playing with me.

Most people just treat me as another player, but I might get accused of cheating a little more than the average guy. I do love the new players asking me where my hopper goes when I play sc tho!
