how strong is carbon fiber?

SO I took a spill playing Normandy field at Urban Assault in McDonald, PA. It's a 45 degree climb to a fort on top of a hill with bunkers up the hill. I took a spill and landed on my barrel climbing up the hill, once I was under fire. To my amazement, it had no damage. Really, no marks on the tip or barrel at all. It feels solid.

So I beg to ask, how strong is carbon fiber barrels?

Has anyone broke one and if so, how?

I have seen the material get exposed and start to unravel due to constant surface wear, but typical carbon fiber has nearly 3 times the tensile strength of steel and is still 4.5 times less dense.

It won't be bending or snapping in two anytime soon.
