Its not a bad idea in theory but in the form it took its screws all the consumers by forcing them bear the brunt of the costs.
It also fines any American if they do not get health insurance. Once you are 18 if you dont sign up for insurance you get fined something to the tune of like 2-5kish or more. Thats a lot for a 18 yr old who cant afford insurance anyway.
One of the biggest issues many people have is that they are being forced to buy something that costs a lot of money (roughly 600 a month on average) and doesnt cover a lot in terms of medical bills.
Mind you this was forced on the public by politicians who get FREE medical care for life once they get elected for only 1 term... Again they dont pay a dime.
All in all what it boils down to is that wages dont really change but you now have to pay what ever insurance compaines charge or be fined for not buying insurance. Most work places still pay the same ammount towards insurance, which is not a lot (except unions who pay more like the twinkie folks). But if their workers opt out and pay the fines the business get fined with them as well. This forces them to raise their prices to cover the large fines.
In other words no one is really saved, the poor get poorer because they have to get fined because they cannot afford the insurance as is.
That is my unbiased opinion as Obamacare doesnt effect me in terms of fines or anything. I have tricare through the military, nothing changes.
