Why do so many pro teams use spool guns? Is it because they are quieter making it easier to communicate? Or do they break less paint?

I've owned a few spool guns but always found they poop out from time to time. My poppet guns never fail though.

Pro players use what their sponsorship allows them to, it has less to do with preference at that level and more to do with money

I just see a lot of the pro PE teams using Geo's over Ego's and wondered why? The D1 and lower bracket PE sponsored teams seem to use Ego's.

I only play d3 and its all about who gives our team the best deal. For the past few years its been PE.

It's a matter of sponsorship and personal preference. Some companies only offer a spool valve design (Dye) and others offer both (Eclipse). I know there were rumors going around that some Eclipse teams were required to mix it up between Egos and Geos when they first came out in an effort to promote the GEO, but I couldn't tell you if that's true or not.
