If Saban had a team with that kind of talent, they would probably win the Owl. They would play sick nasty defense and have a power-oriented, mistake-free, balanced offense.

Jerrah would never allow that.

jerry jones actually has a pact with the nfl to continually lose because the nfl deemed their fanbase too large and too bandwagony. so they need to continue to lose so more BFQs show their faces and more teams can have more fans.

The talent is pretty much already on the roster. It's ridiculous they lose as much as they do.

The level of competition is also far higher than in college. Yeah, they have a roster of NFL talent...so does everybody else, and they're getting paid too.

Very true. The thing with Saban, though, is he doesn't just bring new schemes to the job, he brings an entire culture change. He implements a system that people either buy into, or get shipped out.

The downside about the NFL is that it doesn't allow Saban to outwork the other coaches, which is what makes him the best. The better you do, the worse you position yourself in the draft. Saban hated that structure. At Dallas, he'd have one first rounder a year. At Alabama, he can recruit as many as he wants.

You're also forgetting about Jerry Jones, who only wants a coach who will be a puppet. Why else do you think all the top tier coaches and coaching prospects stay the **** away from Dallas? You really think Saban would coach somewhere he doesn't have total control of his team?

saban already failed in the NFL. He's a college coach and even he knows it. That's why he ran from the NFL the first chance he got.

Carrol is a better football coach than Saban.

Jones and Saban are acquaintances. I feel like Saban would only agree to coach Dallas if Jerry gave him total control.

He was 14-16 at a horrible organization. Didn't they go winless the year after he left? When he was there, they had one of the best defenses in the league. Jason Allen credits him for reviving his career.

He got ****ed on the Culpepper/Brees thing and that's it. If they had a good QB when he was in Miami, he'd probably still be there.

You outwork the other coaches in your preparation and scheming, not recruiting. Plus in the NFL talent evaluation is much more important, you can't just get all the top ranked guys and if some suck its NBD. You only get a few chances, so you need to make them count.

.

Saban did not fail in the NFL. He wanted Drew Brees, but the Dolphins doctors refused to clear him. They stuck him with Daunte Culpepper. Not surprisingly, they had a losing record. But they had a losing record before and after he got there.

I think Saban will try the NFL again, but it will not be with the Cowboys. Ninja is right, JJ wants a puppet coach so he continue playing GM. He had one of the best coaches of all time and he couldn't get along because JJ kept doing stupid **** like bring in TO.

Whether or not Saban can coach in the NFL is still unproven. But he seems to be the right type of guy. However it will be a lot harder than college, you can't just put yourself in the middle of the biggest talent pool in the country and get all the top prospects. You will actually need to have an offense. Which means you will actually need to use the QB.
