For us personally we got 2 scuba tanks and used them, currently we use a bulk hpa tank that does work well but is considerably heavier than a scuba and is much harder to transport. Now while a compressor is the best it is also very costly to start. I would think of looking into a bulk tank, since you will get alot more fills than from scubas and you can get bulk tanks to fill up to 4500 like the one we have and a scuba will only go to 3000

Zoning questions really need to be run by your municipality. Each one is different in what they require.

I just wanted to join in here, I was wondering if anyone knew exactly how many fills can be achieved from a 4500 psi bulk tank?

I was going to make a thread, but this one seemed to be in the general direction. I too am currently running scubas at the moment

GatSplat has a pretty good calculator that shows fill pressures and whatnot.

From my experience, I can run a group of 20 or so on a 5000 PSI bulk tank. We currently have 13 tanks on our system and they'll usually keep us above 3000 on a weekend, assuming we filled up all our rental tanks in advance and our bulk tanks were filled to 5000.

If you are planning on filling bulk tanks, the cheapest NEW continuous duty compressor you can use is going to run you about $6700.

There are lots of good used compressors out there. But you need to be careful because there are a lot of junk piles out there as well.
