The springless poppit in conjunction with the mrt bolt makes the etha have no vibration when firing or ramping. I lubed the mrt with a light coat and will watch for any wear. My etha has only 5 cases through it so it will be easy to identify any wear. Also, I did notice a slight sound signature change. I took video on my phone firing with the stock bolt then the mrt bolt and its safe to say it is slightly quiter. I could care less about the sound however the smoothness of my etha is simply unreal. GREAT job techt! If your considering this bolt, just buy it you will not be dissappointed. I usually dont post reviews on products iIbuy but this changed my etha for the better so much I had to let others know, thanks.

The springless poppet will have no affect on the shot. That's not it's design. The bolt/spring are helping the smoothness.

Just to clarify for anyone who thinks getting the springless poppet should make their shot smoother.

I was able to put about 1000 balls through my etha this weekend w my new MRT bolt. I also put a very light coating of lube on the guide and the outside of the bolt. At first I had applied some TechT gun sav because I swear by the stuff, I use it on everything... but after some further thought I cleaned it off and used the Eclipse grease simply because of its consistancy... Its a little lighter and has less of that initial "sticky" feeling. More like a lighter grease...

dont see how it could make any difference but for reference, I do not have the springless poppet installed... yet...

In the end, I didn't have a single scratch on the guide, it looked like new. Maybe I'm just lucky... If anything changes in the future I'll repost

Just wanted to put my two cents here.

I had the MRT bolt and finally got around to shooting the thing more than just a handful of pods.

I grease the whole bolt with slick honey, pretty much slather it on everywhere.

I have the springless poppit installed as well.

Upon installation, I had an increase of 15 FPS and the sound signature was a bit less. The overall operation was smoother with less noticeable kick.

I have a minor rub mark on the front of the tip, but other than that, it's been a worthy upgrade.

Has anyone else tried the bolt WITHOUT the springless poppet?

It shouldn't make a difference. The springless poppet is design to provide the same function of the original poppet without worries of a compressing spring.

Mine has increasing wear with use. Not a big deal to me honestly. I used 1 drop of eclipse oil per TechT recommendations but ended up wiping it off through the middle of the day.

i also noticed small metal shavings on/near the black rubber bumper which i assume is from the spring rubbing the bolt so i cleaned the whole thing and used a little more lube this time to see if lube is the answer.

The extent of wear is some slight rubbing.

However, that could be attributed to the first time I ever got the bolt and ran it dry for about two pods.

Now, I just slick honey everything and it shoots great!

keep track of the wear and update if any more occurs. I put a decent amount more eclipse lube on the bolt and the bolt stem to see if that makes a difference. Do you have any wear on the bolt from the spring?

Has anyone tried the TechT bolt spring with the stock bolt combo? I think the softer spring with the heavier bolt might not work well together but just an idea you'd get the softer shot but no bolt guide wear.

I have had some wear issues on the bolt guide, Techt bolt and breach. I greased the guide and now started having chopping issues whenever I ramp. It has been cold for the southeast lately but I have had no issues with the stock bolt in the same conditions. Next I'm going to try to Techt bolt with the stock spring to see if that will help some of the ramping issues.

+1 I am also in the Southeast and have had the exact same problem. I still had some wear occur even with the grease on the bolt. I need to send it to Techt to be micro-honed.

Everything looks good minus the minor rub mark on the tip of the tube.
I slick honey everything and had no other issues.

Yea I had the same problems when I greased the bolt guide. I had random skips, I'm guessing the bolt is supposed to fire but goes to slow due to some sticking.

I also noticed breech wear, anyone else see it? Honestly it's not a big deal to me, I bought the gun for so cheap used and it's the gun that I can throw around and still have it work and not feel guilty (like I would with my old Ego11 )

Are you greasing the bumper too? That might be playing to part of the issue.

I have zero breech wear.

i emailed the rep, from techt, who posted in this thread and asked if i ordered the bolt straight from them if i would recieve the micro honed bolt and he said yes, so i did. I still have some bolt guide wear at the tip and had noticed some metal shavings on the black bumper from the spring riding on the bolt. Cleaned it, lubed it pretty damn good and shot a few more pods through it and this is what i get...p.s i do have some breach wear too, i bought this etha brand new 2 months ago
pug
i did not grease the bumper just the bolt and the bolt guide stem. I thought the "micro honing" was supposed to fix this kind of stuff..also these shavings caused my etha not to fire when pulling the trigger very slowly about once every ten times. all i would here is a slight poof and no shot.

^ That doesn't look good at all.

My first bolt from them was tight at the stem and the inside shaft. It would slide on and get stuck, I presumed it was from the coating.

I sent mine back and got another one shortly after.
I know that many have noted that the Etha was never supposed to have an aftermarket bolt because of design/function/whatever, Jack said something a while back in the early part of the thread.

That being said, def. chat with the tech (Todd? I can't remember) and see if they can do anything for you.
Good luck dude.
