Nt11 reg leak

Just picked up an NT 11 from a member here. Out of the box it has a slight leak that I'm trying to fix. When aired, it's leaking from the reg. The air is coming out of the hole (the hole in the body of the reg, that you can see from the rubber sleeves window). I took it to a tech and he aired it, covered te hole with his thumb and we could hear air coming out from the body of the nt (parallel to te bolt and solenoid). Does anyone know what the problem could be? The tech asked me to bring it back tomorrow but I'm worried that a simple reg rebuild wont fix the issue.

A reg rebuild will fix the leak from the reg. There are 2 o-rings in there that will cause it.

If you have another leak from the solenoid/bolt, that's probably a seperate issue.

Which 2 orings would those be?
Does it sound like a solenoid/bolt leak, if it occurs when you cover the hole?

The o-ring on the reg piston or the 006 inside the reg body.

And you would need to be more specific about where the other leak is coming from.

Hm, that piston is impossible to get to since the top cap is stuck.
What do you mean by more specific? I can feel the air coming out of the hole on the reg (the bleed hole?).

Guess I'm going to have to shell over $20 to have it rebuilt.

Use a padded vice or vice grips and a strap wrench belt to hold the reg body while you loosen the top cap.

And I mean be more specific about the other leak you said you hear when you cover the bleed hole.

Ah I see. The other leak is basically just coming out from the area in between the frame and body. I wish I could be more specific, but I decided to give it to a certified tech instead (I don't feel comfortable messing with things that I'm new to). Anyways, I just dropped it off. It seems like it's going to cost me an arm and a leg to repair. Now I remember why I quit paintball a year ago. Oh well, as long as he can get it fixed...s'all good.
I'm going to head down to harbor freight tomorrow, picking up a line cutter and strap wrench.
Based on my description, do you think it just needs a reg rebuild. It doesn't leak from the body unless the hole is covered up. The tech said it seems like a simple rebuild should do it, but he wasn't sure.

There is no reason covering the bleed hole in the reg would cause a leak between the frame and body.

The reg leak will be fixed by the rebuild, if there is indeed a frame leak it could be caused by a couple o-rings on the bolt assembly or it could be coming from the solenoid.

That's really strange then. It just sounds like the air is rushing back to where the bolt/solenoid is. If that makes any sense...
Regardless, it's with the tech now, so hopefully it doesn't cost me an arm and a leg to repair.
Thanks for the help speedy

This is correct.. although isn't it a 007 UR 90 inside the reg body? and 015 on the piston.

It shouldn't cost you that much.. otherwise he's ripping you off, make sure you're hyper 3 reg pressure isn't too high either (use a reg tester..) should be no more then 125-130ish cause that will make your noid leak, or a leak in the frame/body.

Could also be 020 O-rings on the plunger, and
the 011 O-ring at the front of the spacer rod

Thanks guys.
Grss, I believe the cost is either $20 or $35 (I got 2 different numbers, waiting to hear from them to get the final price).
I'm hoping it's just the reg. Like I said, there is no leak, at all, in the grip/body unless the hole on the reg is covered up.
