Dry firing, detrimental or not?

Hey guys i have a WGP trilogy pro, I was just wondering for my gun and PB guns in general if dry firing them ( without paint ) is bad for the gun at all. Slightly bad if you do it a ton? something to avoid at all? or something not to worry about?

Other than testing a gun I don't do it. They were design to shoot a ball. But most people do it all the time.

It depends on the gun, but autocockers are fine to do that to.

With air it's no big deal. I don't dry fire without air though, the hammer can hit the jam nut.

not gonna hurt a cocker, but don't really see why you would dry fire it for more than a dozen shots or unless your working on timing.
