My Ion will chop a paintball every other paintball, but will not chop while in rebound, 3 shot burst, or full auto. Does anyone know why this is happening?

Is it chopping from your bolt or breaking in your barrel?

It may either be your paint or the air pressure on your paint.

In semi auto, there's a better chance that your ion is recharging normally, but when in the rebound, 3shot, or full auto modes, the marker cannot fully recharge due to the larger number of cycles per time frame.

If my hopper speed setting is too high, would that affect it?

The hopper speed would break the ball before it even reached the bolt. Your barrel bore could be too small. Can you push a ball into your barrel by hand without breaking it?

Try different paint. Better paint. See if that helps. May want to go up a little in barrel bore size.
