What oil is recommended?

Thanks Winter
How can you tell which generation proton one might have and what different upgrades/changes might have been affected?

I think there was only one change to the board. If you push the button to turn the marker on it's the new generation. I think you had to pull to turn it on in the first gen.

I just used synthetic gun oil from the local hunting shop. No problems.

Thanks guys. Evidently I have a first generation. I like the idea of pushing the switch to turn it on and pulling it to turn it off since it would be harder to inadvertently turn it off during a game. Is it the switch I would have to replace or the board if I wanted to change/upgrade it?

You need to get a new upper board.

I also have a valken proton that is leaking out of the regulator Allen key hole. Is there anyway I can get a replacement valve seat for it? I'd gladly pay for it, the gun worked great for the first few hundred balls, then it started leaking badly.

Proton Leak

My Valken Proton has this huge leak I cannot fix from where the back scew is inserted within the grip. I had replaced the screw believing it was chipped and didn't allow the air to contain. I now figure it could be the grip frame since it also leaks air throughout the rears sides connected to the reciever. I need help. There is no other site I found after one year selling the parts.

There is an oring that seals air coming up the grip frame and then into the solenoid/bolt system. You may have simply lost or damaged yours. I think it's #26 on the proton diagram in the manual. It can fall off when you remove the grip frame sometimes. Replace it and give it a tiny bit of grease.

I finally have gotten to replace the #26 O-ring and greased it, now I am getting a really awful leak in #12 Regulator Assembly. I have all rhe O-rings and its starting to waste too much money.

Orings are cheap. Keep going until all the leaks are fixed and you'll be fine.
