I think I may build my next PC, just cause. I think it would be fun but I don't want to drop a **** ton either. Also thinking about getting a Mac mini specifically for video editing. My buddy who shoots says that he feels editing on a mac just feels faster since the .mp4's are the native format. Not sure what truth there is to that, all I know is editing .mp4 on my current PC is a nightmare. Again more **** to spend money on when I rather spend it on motorcycles or truck parts.

Screw editing mp4 with vegas. I usually convert all my footage its easier in the end.

Hm I saw that Go Pro has their own software, I'll try to use that instead of Premiere Pro since it may be easier on my PC. Also box cutters are awesome I used to have like 3 really good ones when I worked at shoprite. Had them bent perfectly to be able to whip the blade out and push it back in via a tap on my leg. I remember pretending to swipe some kid with it and accidentally cutting him.

The front bumper we won at the big Subaru meet has a go pro mount on it. Gonna use my brothers go pro and mount it to my car for some good times down the back road I know really really well.

You need a 4+ core system and a video editor that can utilize multiple cores. Multi-threading is going to make the biggest difference in video editing, from my understanding.
and don't skimp on RAM. 1600+ and at the very least 8gb, 16 would probably suit you better.
